Both school districts extended their mask mandates into the fall of the 2021-2022 school year.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/11\/09\/grassroots-organizations-school-board-wins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Vote Like A Mother\u2019: Parental Rights Groups Notch Key School Board Wins Across The Country)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the 2021-2022 school year, Brevard Public\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/24\/conservatives-school-board-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Schools<\/a>\u00a0extended its emergency mask mandate through Nov. 28, giving parents an opt-out option, according to the school\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brevardschools.org\/site\/default.aspx?PageType=3&amp;DomainID=4&amp;ModuleInstanceID=5964&amp;ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&amp;RenderLoc=0&amp;FlexDataID=78459&amp;PageID=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. Sarasota County Schools implemented a mask mandate in August 2021 but it was repealed in October,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldtribune.com\/story\/news\/education\/2021\/10\/06\/masks-no-longer-mandated-sarasota-county-schools\/6003496001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a>\u00a0to the Herald-Tribune.<\/p>\n<div id=\"dailycaller_incontent_dynamic1\" class=\"fs-dynamic\" data-slot=\"complete\" data-freestar-ad=\"__728x90  __300x250\">\n<div id=\"dailycaller_incontent_dynamic1_slot\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-inc=\"1\">Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who endorsed recently elected members who flipped the school board majorities,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2021\/07\/30\/governor-desantis-issues-an-executive-order-ensuring-parents-freedom-to-choose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed<\/a>\u00a0an executive order in July 2021 requiring schools to give parents to opt their students out of school\u2019s mask mandates.
