Hudson discussed her feelings on the situation during a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/kate-hudson-im-not-interested-in-forcing-a-conventional-idea-of-love-3zj5zsrt0\">interview<\/a> with The Sunday Times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside I feel like we\u2019re killing it,\u201d Hudson told the publication. \u201cThe unit that I\u2019ve created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it\u2019s ours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to say how creating a traditional family was never her goal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not interested in forcing some conventional idea of love or marriage. I\u2019d like to be able to grow intimately with my partner for a long time, but I also don\u2019t have rose-colored glasses on,\u201d the actress continued. \u201cMy goal in life is that I want to feel love and I want to give love, but I\u2019m also practical, so, one day at a time. I work really hard at relationships because I like them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hudson next mentioned taking inspiration from her own childhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy parents have done an amazing job of continuing that dance,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson. But Hawn has been with partner Kurt Russell for 39 years and Hudson says she thinks of Russell as her father.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Hudson has discussed co-parenting in glowing terms. \u201cAs much as I would say I don\u2019t recommend it to most, my situation is quite amazing,\u201d she said during a 2019 podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/podcastone.com\/episode\/Actress-Kate-Hudson-Talks-Relationships-Co-parenting--Baby-Daddies\">interview<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you get divorced, you\u2019re still in a relationship,\u201d Hudson continued. \u201cIt\u2019s just a different kind of relationship. You\u2019re going to have good days, you\u2019re going to have bad days, you\u2019re going to have good weeks, bad weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress is currently engaged to Rani\u2019s dad but she said she\u2019s not in a hurry to get married. \u201cI hope we get married!\u201d Hudson told The Times. \u201cWe\u2019re not in a hurry.
