Ms. Prioleau saw the bullet wound in her coworker\u2019s neck, the blood rushing out of it, and the shocked look on her coworker\u2019s helpless face,\u201d it included.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The shooter, who shall remain unnamed according to The Daily Wire\u2019s mass shooter policy, shot and killed six workers and injured additional people before dying from a gunshot wound that was apparently self-inflicted, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prioleau had put forward a formal complaint on a Walmart Global Ethics Statement Form regarding the shooter\u2019s actions, who \u201chad bizarrely and inappropriately commented on Ms. Prioleau\u2019s age,\u201d the lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wavy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/Walmart-Lawsuit-REDACTED.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prioleau\u2019s mother also went to the store to talk with the manager \u201cbecause she was very concerned for her daughter\u2019s safety.\u201d The manager \u201cinformed Ms. Prioleau that there was nothing that could be done about [the shooter] because he was liked by management,\u201d according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWalmart\u2019s management \u2026 and others, had received numerous reports that [the shooter] had been acting inappropriately, bizarrely, and dangerously,\u201d the complaint stated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lawyers John Morgan and Peter Anderson of the law firm Morgan and Morgan, which filed the lawsuit, put out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wavy.com\/chesapeake-walmart-mass-shooting\/walmart-employee-files-50m-lawsuit-following-chesapeake-mass-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>, saying, \u201c[w]hile the cruelty of murdering six defenseless people is truly unimaginable, Ms. Prioleau alleges that she and her coworkers had been concerned for months that such an incident could occur at any time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cOur client alleges Walmart acknowledged her written complaint alleging harassment, but continued to employ the perpetrator. As workplace shootings and violence become horrifyingly common, employers have a responsibility to understand the warning signs and take threats seriously in order to protect their employees and customers,\u201d the statement noted. \u201cOur hearts are broken for the families of those who lost loved ones and for those, like Ms. Prioleau, whose lives will never be the same because of this trauma. We will work to hold Walmart accountable for failing to stop this tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Walmart said in a statement, per the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/business-shootings-violence-lawsuits-virginia-03a8c18470cb4877b50d30ccfe7229e6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a>, that it was looking over the lawsuit and will reply \u201cas appropriate with the court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe entire Walmart family is heartbroken by the loss of the valued members of our team,\u201d the company stated. \u201cOur deepest sympathies go out to our associates and everyone impacted, including those who were injured.
