Who\u2019s backing this up? Is there any science behind it? What is the science who\u2019s paying for the science\u2026 it\u2019s being twisted to serve the purposes of the man and a much grander machine. And I think any one of us can really wrap our minds around how grand the machine is, that is manipulating us. But we\u2019re seeing that\u2019s why people are getting canceled, because they\u2019re not lying. Most of them because they\u2019re telling the truth. And these are uncomfortable truths that are being shielded from us for a reason, because it is very powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Americans can now do their own research and come to conclusions that may differ from the accepted narratives. That scares those in charge of the information dissemination, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026there\u2019s been no greater time for democracy than the present moment with the technology that we have. In fact, that\u2019s become so dangerous to folks, that we are now being excised from access to that truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some scientists and reporters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/did-the-government-pressure-twitter-to-curtail-speech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(like Alex Berenson)<\/a> were banished from Twitter in recent months for sharing conflicting views on the pandemic. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/09\/29\/1041625310\/youtube-is-cracking-down-on-videos-and-creators-sharing-covid-vaccine-misinforma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube similarly deplatformed voices<\/a> which countered the government\u2019s wisdom on lockdowns and the pandemic in general.<\/p>\n<p>Jane continued, bringing Climate Change into the conversation to show how more information, not less, is the path forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to be right. In fact, if you\u2019re wrong, and if you\u2019re able to bounce that off people, the feedback you get will generally lead you toward the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor doesn\u2019t name-check Dr. Anthony Fauci, who famously said,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/11\/anthony-fauci-i-am-the-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u201cI represent science,\u201d<\/a> but he excoriated those who suggest \u201cthe science is settled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScience never claims to find the truth about anything. It\u2019s an ongoing discovery. It\u2019s a process. It\u2019s a process that needs to be democratic in order to function.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time Jane spoke out against the new limitations on speech.<\/p>\n<p>In a 2020 chat with Agence France-Presse, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rappler.com\/entertainment\/celebrities\/actor-thomas-jane-says-trump-will-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jane explained his participation<\/a> in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/kyle-rankin-run-hide-fight-interview\/\">Run Hide Fight<\/a>,\u201d a thriller set during a school shooting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe subject is taboo,\u201d Jane told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRun Hide Fight\u201d struggled to land a distributor due to the film\u2019s incendiary subject matter. The story involves a teen (Isabel May) taking the fight to teen terrorists who overtake her high school.<\/p>\n<p>Jane said that story deserves a fair hearing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone wants to tow the line. Nobody wanted to do a movie about it. Everybody is so goddamned touchy in this country, and I\u2019m sick of it \u2026 I am sick of not being able to have an open discussion and a disagreement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire, a freedom-friendly, right-leaning platform, eventually<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodintoto.com\/dallas-sonnier-run-hide-fight-culture-interview\/\"> shared the film<\/a> via its burgeoning entertainment platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actor Thomas Jane isn\u2019t as vocal as his peers when it comes to politics.
