In a separate interview, Lake said she\u2019ll <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/kari-lake-vows-larger-legal-challenge-after-1st-election-lawsuit-filed_4886119.html\">file a larger suit<\/a> against the county.<\/p>\n<p>Democrat Katie Hobbs, the current secretary of state who is running against Lake, declared victory earlier this month. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, issued a statement last week that he will be working with Hobbs\u2019s team on transferring power and recognized Hobbs as the winner.<\/p>\n<p>With 99 percent of the vote counted, Hobbs leads Lake by more than 15,000 votes, according to data provided by The Associated Press. Earlier this month, Republican Senate candidate Blake Masters conceded to Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) in another hotly contested statewide race.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Critical Information\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Maricopa GOP, county officials need to provide \u201ccritical information that Maricopa County voters were NOT disenfranchised\u201d on Nov. 8 and confirmed whether the vote tabulation issues on Nov. 8 had a \u201cmaterial impact on the results of this election.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4823824\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/10\/27\/Katie-Hobbs-1200x835.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy size-medium wp-image-4823824\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Katie-Hobbs-600x417-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"600\" height=\"417\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4823824\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Katie-Hobbs-600x417-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"600\" height=\"417\" \/><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a> Arizona Secretary of State and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs speaks at a press conference calling for abortion rights outside the Evo A. (Mario Tama\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe ask that you respect the voters of Maricopa County, listen to our concerns, and answer our questions before certifying the November 2022 General Election,\u201d they wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s the right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the letter, the Maricopa Board of Supervisors <a href=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FicYA43VQAAskTD?format=jpg&#038;name=large\">indicated<\/a> that the canvass for the Nov. 8 election will be completed by Monday, Nov. 28. Gates last week also indicated that officials will not delay the vote canvass before certification.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe employees whom the Custodian of Records will call upon to search for these documents are currently preparing the reports and other documents necessary for the canvass of the election, which the law requires them to complete by Monday, November 28, 2022,\u201d it said. \u201cThey cannot set aside their legal obligations to commence the search for these records (or other records identified in other public records requests received before this one) until after the important tasks related to the statutorily required canvass are complete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ward, who posted Maricopa County\u2019s letter on Twitter, criticized county officials over the move.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaricopa County says they don\u2019t have records, they don\u2019t have time, &#038; even if they DO find any records if they ever finally have time to look, it will be MUCH too late for Arizona,\u201d Ward <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kelliwardaz\/status\/1596271037515067392\">wrote<\/a> on Twitter.<\/p>\n<h2>Legal Challenge<\/h2>\n<p>Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix and includes some 60 percent of Arizona\u2019s population, has become the center of election lawsuits and challenges in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>It comes as Lake\u2019s team filed a lawsuit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/609763113\/Kari-Lake-For-Arizona-v-Richer-Valenzuela-Jarrett-Gates-Hickman-Sellers-Galvin-and-Galardo\">pdf<\/a>) against Maricopa County that demanded the release of the country\u2019s election records.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis deadline (or its substantial equivalent) is, under the circumstances presented, necessary to ensure that vital public records are furnished promptly and that apparent deficiencies can be remedied before canvassing of the 2022 general election,\u201d Lake\u2019s complaint said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4853722\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/11\/09\/bill-gates-1200x800.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy size-medium wp-image-4853722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/bill-gates-600x400-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4853722\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/bill-gates-600x400-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a> Bill Gates, chair of the Maricopa Board of Supervisors, speaks about voting machine malfunctions at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Elections Center in Phoenix, Ariz., on Nov. 9, 2022. I\u2019ve heard people say throw it out. We have not determined what the remedy is.
