History Says It Could Take a Decade to Get Back to Normal.\u201d This context was apparently lost on Krugman. His latest drivel read like he psyched himself into a state of denial. He claimed Republicans will \u201cwreak as much havoc as they can\u201d and \u201c<strong>undermine what might otherwise look like successful governance by the Biden administration.<\/strong>\u201d Yikes. [Emphasis added.]\n<p>Krugman\u2019s distorted view of Democrats sticking it to the GOP was nothing short of comical. Krugman claimed Democrats should \u201ccrazyproof\u201d policy by \u2014 wait for it \u2014 \u201c<strong>raising the debt limit high enough that it won\u2019t be a problem<\/strong> and locking in sufficient aid for Ukraine to get through the many months of war that surely lie ahead.\u201d In Krugman&#8217;s view, \u201cDemocrats would be, well, crazy not to do these things as soon as possible.\u201d Uh, what? The U.S. economic situation after nearly two years of Biden\u2019s leadership is so bad that the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/11\/22\/world-energy-crisis-bad-right-now-next-winter-worse-says-oecd-new-global-outlook-bad-times-ahead\/\">is reportedly<\/a> estimating U.S GDP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/economic-outlook\/november-2022\/\">growth<\/a> to only reach an anemic 0.5 percent next year, and only 1 percent in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Krugman\u2019s solution for Democrats was to keep the government\u2019s spending obsession \u2014 which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/25\/business\/economy\/larry-summers-federal-reserve.html\">helped stimulate<\/a> the inflation crisis to begin with \u2014 going like clockwork. Heritage Foundation President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/staff\/kevin-roberts-phd\">Kevin Roberts<\/a> stated in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/republicans-must-fight-biden-trillion-dollar-spending-refusing-give-debt-limit\">op-ed<\/a> ripping liberal elites on the debt ceiling that \u201cwith the Federal Reserve having \u2018bought\u2019 nearly all of the debt from Congress\u2019s new spending \u2014 that is, just printed more money like someone cheating at \u2018Monopoly\u2019 \u2014 Biden\u2019s only fiscal plan is \u2026 more spending!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But for Krugman, it is the GOP who \u201cwon\u2019t help govern America. It will, in fact, almost surely do what it can to undermine governance.\u201d The Democrats, cried Krugman, \u201cneed to do whatever they can both to thwart political sabotage and to make the would-be saboteurs pay a price.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is the same Krugman<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/business\/joseph-vazquez\/2022\/09\/27\/flashback-3-paul-krugman-rules-bidenomics-self-destructed\"> who gave three rules<\/a> to supposedly guide \u201cBidenomics\u201d prior to Biden\u2019s 2021 inauguration that ended up imploding in 2022. Two of those \u201cRules\u201d need no explanation: \u201cRule #1: Don\u2019t doubt the power of government to help.\u201d \u201cRule #3: Don\u2019t worry about inflation.\u201d Just over a year into the Biden presidency, the economy would be hit with a 40-year high<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/business\/jeffrey-clark\/2022\/09\/13\/watch-morning-nets-cover-twerking-lizzo-largely-ignore\"> inflation crisis<\/a> that Krugman claimed was \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/09\/10\/opinion\/transitory-inflation-covid-consumer-prices.html\">transitory<\/a>\u201d for months, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/americas-new-energy-crisis-11659153633\">energy crisis<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/finance\/3492802-the-true-depths-of-our-debt-crisis\/\">debt crisis<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/business\/nb-staff\/2022\/08\/22\/nbc-nightly-news-discovers-housing-recession-after-mrc-ripped\">housing recession<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nam.org\/manufacturers-third-quarter-outlook-shows-continued-supply-chain-issues-growing-workforce-needs-and-rising-costs-18798\/\">supply chain disruptions<\/a> and more. But in the face of these issues, Krugman still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/business\/joseph-vazquez\/2022\/09\/08\/condescending-paul-krugman-bleats-biden-boom-great-workers\">insisted <\/a>in September that the so-called \u201cBiden Boom\u201d was great for U.S. workers \u201cwhether they know it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Conservatives are under attack.<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em><em>Contact The New York Times at <\/em>800-698-4637<em> and demand it continue to distance itself from Krugman\u2019s awful inflation predictions.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman has a knack for propping up President Joe Biden&#8217;s atrocious economy at the expense of making himself look foolish.
