The rest of us think he\u2019s MIA. But nobody ever levels with him. Nobody tells him this isn\u2019t going well,\u201d she told <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fox-news\">Fox News<\/a> host Steve Doocy, who called her prediction \u201cRun, Joe, run.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Conway, the first woman to manage a winning presidential campaign, pointed to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/just-how-unpopular-is-joe-biden\">recent polls<\/a> and Democrats noticeably <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/democrats-distance-from-biden\">creating distance<\/a> between their campaigns and the president during the midterm elections as proof that Biden\u2019s become unpopular. <\/p>\n<p>But, she said, once \u201cyou\u2019ve got the job, you want to keep the job.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/biden-80-questions-physical-health-nantucket-thanksgiving-2024-plans\">BIDEN, 80, DOGGED BY QUESTIONS ABOUT PHYSICAL HEALTH DURING NANTUCKET THANKSGIVING<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s much harder to dislodge a sitting president by its party than people realize,\u201d Conway added, pointing to the unprecedented experiences of one-term presidents such as Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush. <\/p>\n<p>Questions about Biden\u2019s mental acuity and physical health have also risen, especially after the president turned <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/biden-turns-80-concerns-age-questions\">80 years old<\/a> last weekend. <\/p>\n<p>Conway said he should give up the job and make way for a younger candidate. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I were making an argument to him as to why he should step aside, I\u2019d say, \u2018Joe Biden, you\u2019re every second of 80 years old, and you\u2019ve done these great things. \u2026 It\u2019s time to pass the baton to the next generation,&#8217;\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Vice President <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\">Kamala Harris<\/a> would be the obvious choice should he choose not to run, Conway noted. But her popularity is worse than his, and losing 19 staffers shows \u201cjust how difficult it is for her to communicate\u201d and \u201cto inspire,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the inability for him to pass [the baton] to Kamala Harris is probably his best job protection,\u201d Conway said. <\/p>\n<p>Biden has said that it is his \u201cintention\u201d to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/biden-intends-to-run-despite-voters\">run again in 2024<\/a> but that he would talk it over with his family and make an announcement sometime next year. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Even as the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/midterms\">midterm elections<\/a> strengthened Biden\u2019s hand, with Democrats <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/democrats-retain-senate-pushed-to-50-by-nevada-win\">retaining the Senate<\/a> and losing <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/red-wave-crashes-blue-wall-five-key-takeaways-from-bombshell-midterms-election-night\">fewer seats<\/a> than expected in the House, exit polls showed two-thirds of voters <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/two-thirds-dont-want-biden-2024\">do not want<\/a> him to run again. <\/p>\n<p>So far, former President Donald Trump is the only one to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/donald-trump-announces-2024-campaign\">declare his candidacy<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The divided government in 2023 could make it even more difficult to pass legislation in the next Congress, but Conway said that shouldn\u2019t stop Republicans, who will have the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/republicans-reclaim-house-first-time-four-years\">House majority<\/a>, from trying. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter what happens to it.
