The encounter caused massive consternation among Trump supporters and in media.<\/p>\n<p>Fuentes is an open white nationalist, who has espoused anti-Semitic views. West was recently suspended from Twitter for an anti-Semitic rant of his own.<\/p>\n<p>In a video posted to Twitter, West asserted that he asked Trump to be his &#8220;running mate&#8221; for a potential 2024 presidential run. West said in his Twitter video that his party was kicked out of Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<p>When a source close to President Trump and with knowledge of the situation was asked if that was the case, they corroborated Kanye\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p>West spoke in his video about the encounter with Trump, saying &#8220;When Trump started basically screaming at the table telling me I was gonna lose, I mean, has that ever worked for anyone in history?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m like, &#8216;Wait, hold on Trump, you&#8217;re talking to Ye,'&#8221; West said.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the controversy, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying &#8220;This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Shortlly hereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about. We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful. They then left for the airport.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/Fibm6czXkAIXasW?format=png&amp;name=900x900\" alt=\"image\" \/><br \/>\n&#8220;Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was asking me for advice concerning some of his difficulties, in particular having to do with his business. We also discussed, to a lesser extent, politics, where I told him he should definitely not run for President, &#8216;any voters you may have should vote for TRUMP.&#8217; Anyway, we got along great, he expressed no anti-Semitism, &amp; I appreciated all of the nice things he said about me on &#8216;Tucker Carlson.&#8217; Why wouldn\u2019t I agree to meet? Also, I didn\u2019t know Nick Fuentes&#8221; Trump said in a follow up post on Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p>Trump first issued a response to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/11\/25\/kanye-west-swipes-trump-in-first-2024-presidential-campaign-video\/\">New York Post<\/a>, saying &#8220;Kanye West very much wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago. Our dinner meeting was intended to be Kanye and me only, but he arrived with a guest whom I had never met and knew nothing about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/11\/25\/trump-nick-fuentes-ye-kanye\">Axios<\/a> reported that Trump &#8220;turned to Ye and said, &#8216;I really like this guy.
