The testimony is expected to be used for the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/republicans-prepare-hunter-biden-investigations-after-midterms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">party\u2019s investigations<\/a> into border security, suspected bias within the FBI and the Department of Justice, and the financial dealings of <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/gop-targets-hunter-biden-but-voters-say-priorities-wrong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Joe Biden\u2019s son Hunter.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/new-republicans-try-to-steer-focus-away-from-impeachment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMPEACH BIDEN? INCOMING GOP HOUSE MAJORITY GRAPPLES WITH HOW TO USE NEW POWER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe American people elected a new House Republican majority because the past two years of one-party Democrat rule have failed America,\u201d <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/republicanleader.house.gov\/house-republicans-demand-testimony-from-bidens-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who is set to become House speaker in the next Congress. \u201cThese actions by the Biden administration deserve oversight and accountability, which Republicans will pursue in the new Congress. \u2026 Every congressional committee has an oversight responsibility, and we intend to finally get the answers the American people deserve.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee sent five letters on Nov. 18 requesting testimony from certain Biden administration officials, including in the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, the DOJ, the FBI, and the Department of Education. <\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a breakdown of the 42 Biden administration officials who are expected to testify before Republicans next Congress: <\/p>\n<p><b>White House staff<\/b> <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/2022-11-18-HJC-GOP-to-Klain-WH.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In a letter to Klain<\/a>, the group of 19 Republicans led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) requested testimony from four White House staff members in relation to \u201cthe Biden Administration\u2019s misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources to target concerned parents at school board meetings.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The request comes after Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo to law enforcement officials in October 2021 instructing them to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/michigan-parents-sue-attorney-general-memo-directing-fbi-investigate-violent-threats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">address reported threats<\/a> targeting school board officials, teachers, and school administrators. The memo came in response to a letter from the National School Boards Association a month earlier asking the Biden administration to investigate such threats. <\/p>\n<p>However, the NSBA request has come under scrutiny by House Republicans who say the Executive Office of the President <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/nsba-knew-about-garland-school-boards-memo-before-it-was-published-emails-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was involved in sending the letter,<\/a> resulting in \u201ccollusion.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee requests testimony from the following White House officials: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mary C. Wall \u2014 Senior adviser of the COVID-19 Response Team<\/li>\n<li>Julie C. Rodriguez \u2014 Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs<\/li>\n<li>Katherine Pantangco \u2014 Policy adviser for intergovernmental affairs<\/li>\n<li>Nezly Silva \u2014 Senior policy analyst for intergovernmental affairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Department of Education<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>House Republicans have <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/2022-11-18-HJC-GOP-to-Cardona-Ed.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also requested the testimony<\/a> of three officials inside the Department of Education for its investigation into the Biden administration\u2019s alleged involvement with the NSBA letter. They are: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kimberly Watkins-Foote \u2014 Director of the national engagement division<\/li>\n<li>Larry Bowden \u2014 Senior adviser to the secretary<\/li>\n<li>Nicholas Simmons \u2014 Special assistant to the Office of the Secretary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Department of Homeland Security<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/2022-11-18-HJC-GOP-to-Mayorkas-DHS.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">also seeks the testimony<\/a> of 11 officials inside the Department of Homeland Security, including from Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. <\/p>\n<p>The testimony is likely to focus on the flux of immigrants coming into the United States from the southern border, which has significantly increased under the Biden administration. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/republicans-dhs-employees-notice-new-majority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Republicans have previously demanded<\/a> DHS officials preserve documents pertaining to the border, with some GOP lawmakers <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/10\/06\/politics\/kevin-mccarthy-alejandro-mayorkas-republican-impeachment-effort\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly considering<\/a> impeaching Mayorkas once they take control of the House in January. <\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee requests testimony from the following DHS officials: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alejandro Mayorkas \u2014 Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security<\/li>\n<li>Ur M. Jaddou \u2014 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services<\/li>\n<li>Tae Johnson \u2014 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/li>\n<li>Kerry E. Doyle \u2014 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/li>\n<li>Blas Nunez-Neto \u2014 U.S. Customs and Border Protection<\/li>\n<li>Raul L. Ortiz \u2013 Chief of U.S. Border Patrol<\/li>\n<li>Jennifer Daskal \u2014 Office of the General Counsel<\/li>\n<li>Adam Hunter \u2014 Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans<\/li>\n<li>Jen Easterly \u2014 Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency<\/li>\n<li>Geoff Hale \u2014 Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency<\/li>\n<li>Julia Treanor \u2014 Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <b>Department of Justice<\/b> <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/2022-11-18-HJC-GOP-to-Garland-DOJ.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In a letter sent<\/a> to the Department of Justice, House Republicans informed Garland they would be seeking the testimony of 15 officials \u2014 the most of any of the departments that received the Nov. 18 notices. <\/p>\n<p>The testimony is likely to be in reference to the department\u2019s handling of its investigations into Donald Trump because Republicans have accused the department of being politically biased against the former president. Republicans\u2019 investigations are expected to home in on the raid of Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago home, during which the FBI and DOJ obtained several boxes of classified White House documents. <\/p>\n<p>The DOJ is investigating possible violations of the Espionage Act and obstruction of justice in its inquiry about the Mar-a-Lago document tranche, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/trump-employee-tells-fbi-order-move-maralago-boxes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to court documents<\/a>. Trump has denied any wrongdoing. <\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee requests testimony from the following DOJ officials: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Merrick B.
