In Colorado, incumbent Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert declared victory after her Democratic opponent Adam Frisch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/rep-lauren-boeberts-opponent-concedes-razor-thin-house-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conceded<\/a> last week, but only 550 votes sit between them, triggering a recount and more delayed results.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Both races that are holding up the final results of a tumultuous midterm election season sit in blue states with lax rules on mail-in ballots, marking a stark contrast between the laws that allow for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/florida-gets-voting-results-fast-heres-what-they-do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quick results<\/a> from some Republican-led states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf every state ran elections like Florida or Texas, we\u2019d know the total House count within 24 hours of the polls closing, or less,\u201d Cook Political\u2019s Dave Wasserman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/slow-as-molasses-five-house-races-uncalled-two-weeks-after-election\">told<\/a> the Washington Examiner. \u201cBut between late ballot return deadlines and slow ballot processing, CA\u2019s results look more like molasses than well-functioning machinery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times election tracker explained that the news outlet stopped updating its House forcast in the California and Colorado House races the day after the election due to the delay in counting mail-in ballots. California still has more than 250,000 uncounted ballots across the state, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/california-still-has-more-than-250000-uncounted-ballots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stopped updating these forecasts at 4 a.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Nov. 9, as the bulk of the remaining races will be decided by mail ballots that will take days to count. These graphics and estimates will no longer be updated,\u201d the Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2022\/11\/08\/us\/elections\/results-california-us-house-district-13.html\">said<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republicans will take control of the House by nine seats, 222-213, if the GOP holds onto both leads in California and Colorado.
