Democrat candidate Adam Gray trailed Duarte by 593 votes, less than 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no automatic recounting law in California.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) already declared victory and her Democrat opponent Adam Frisch has conceded. Boebert leads Frisch by 554 votes, less than 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The race has not been called because Colorado law requires an automatic recounting when the difference is less than 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>With these two seats being added to the Republican majority, the GOP would have 222 seats in the U.S. House while the Democratic Party would have 213.<\/p>\n<h2>Data Reveals a Hopeful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-2024\">2024<\/a> for Republicans<\/h2>\n<p>According to data compiled by the Cook Political Report, Republican House candidates received more than 3.3 million popular votes than their Democratic counterparts in the midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the total 106.6 million votes, Republicans beat Democrats with an advantage of 50.8\u00a0percent to 47.7.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie Cook, founder of the Cook Political Report, wrote on Nov. 14 that the Republican Party\u2014with a 4.9 percentage point advantage at that time\u2014would normally gain 20\u201330 seats in the House, but didn\u2019t gain as many seats as anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSimply put, Republicans picked up the votes they needed, just not where they needed them most. (Gage Skidmore)<\/figure>\n<p>American Enterprise Institute senior fellow Emeritus Michael Barone believes House Republicans won the popular vote because the turnout in Central cities worked against the Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>The popular vote didn\u2019t give the Republican Party more seats because of redistricting, and Republican voters are more concentrated than before, he said.<\/p>\n<p>However, the advantage in popular votes indicates the Republican Party could have a hopeful 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRepublican House candidates won 58 percent of the popular vote in the South and 53 percent in the Midwest, two regions that together account for 298 of the 538 electoral votes. (Andrew Harnik-Pool\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>The House Oversight Committee will investigate President Joe Biden and his alleged involvement in his son Hunter\u2019s foreign business deals, Reps. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as speaker of the House, told reporters in El Paso at the U.S. border with Mexico after meeting with U.S. Border Patrol officials that Mayorkas should \u201cresign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe cannot and must not remain in that position.
