She\u2019s asking the court to compel the officials to promptly produce records on the administration of the midterm elections, which featured widespread issues in the state\u2019s largest county.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven instances of misprinted ballots, the commingling of counted and uncounted ballots, and long lines discouraging people from voting, as demonstrated in the attached declarations, these records are necessary for Plaintiff to determine the full extent of the problems identified and their impacts on electors,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/609763113\/Kari-Lake-For-Arizona-v-Richer-Valenzuela-Jarrett-Gates-Hickman-Sellers-Galvin-and-Galardo\">19-page suit<\/a> states.<\/p>\n<p>Maricopa County officials have acknowledged that tabulators across many polling sites stopped working properly on election day. Among the advised solutions was voters placing their ballots into a box to be counted later. Declarations attached to the new suit from poll observers say that workers mixed counted and uncounted ballots in the same container at the end of the night.<\/p>\n<p>Another solution to the tabulator problem was a voter checking out of a site and utilizing a mail-in ballot. To try to figure out the extent of the problems, the Lake campaign on Nov. 15 requested information such as all records related to voters who checked into a site and who also submitted a ballot by mail. The campaign sent another request on Nov. 16. None of the records have been produced yet, which violates Arizona law that public record requests must be fulfilled \u201cpromptly,\u201d the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need information from Maricopa County,\u201d Lake said on Steve Bannon\u2019s \u201cWar Room.\u201d \u201cThey ran the shoddiest election ever, in history, and we want some information. We\u2019re on a timeline, a very strict timeline when it comes to fighting this botched election. And they\u2019re dragging their feet. They don\u2019t want to give us the information, so we\u2019re asking the courts to force them to give us the information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At present, Lake\u2019s opponent Katie Hobbs, a Democrat who serves as Arizona\u2019s secretary of state, is ahead in the race. Maricopa County is scheduled to canvass the results on Nov. 28, with the state following on Dec. 5. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/ducey-congratulates-hobbs-lake-warns-against-certifying-arizona-results_4882995.html\">said<\/a> he\u2019s working to help Hobbs transition to become governor.<\/p>\n<p>The suit asks the court to compel the county to produce the records prior to the canvassing. \u201cThis deadline (or its substantial equivalent) is, under the circumstances presented, necessary to ensure that vital public records are furnished promptly and that apparent deficiencies can be remedied before canvassing of the 2022 general election,\u201d it says.<\/p>\n<p>Maricopa County did not return requests for comment on a different lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/arizona-attorney-general-candidate-sues-over-midterm-election-results_4881402.html\">filed this week<\/a> by Abe Hamadeh, the Republican candidate for state attorney general, and the Republican National Committee. (Justin Sullivan\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<h2>Attorney General<\/h2>\n<p>The office of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, a Republican,\u00a0recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/kari-lake-says-she-will-become-governor-after-attorney-generals-letter_4875040.html\">requested information<\/a> from Thomas Liddy, the chief of the Maricopa County Attorney\u2019s Office\u2019s Civil Division, after receiving hundreds of complaints about issues related to the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese complaints go beyond pure speculation, but include first-hand witness accounts that raise concerns regarding Maricopa\u2019s lawful compliance with Arizona election law,\u201d\u00a0Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright wrote. \u201cFurthermore, statements made by both Chairman Gates and Recorder Richer, along with information Maricopa County released through official modes of communication appear to confirm potential statutory violations of title 16.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The information indicated that the county did not uniformly administer the election, as is required by state and federal law, and that poll workers weren\u2019t trained to check out voters who left sites where the tabulators weren\u2019t working right, she added.<\/p>\n<p>Wright requested the information on or before the county submits its canvass to the secretary of state because the issues \u201crelate to Maricopa County\u2019s ability to lawfully certify election results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bill Gates, the Republican chairman of the county\u2019s Board of Supervisors, said in a statement that the county would not delay the canvass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrior to the canvass, the County will respond to a letter from the Arizona Attorney General\u2019s Office requesting information about the administration of the November General Election,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cBoard members received this letter on Saturday night and had a team working on a response all day Sunday, even as staff continued counting votes. We look forward to answering the AG\u2019s questions with transparency as we have done throughout this election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brnovich\u2019s office has not indicated that the county has provided the information, nor has the county said it handed over the information.<\/p>\n<p>Lake said on \u201cWar Room\u201d that the county is \u201ctrying to run out the clock,\u201d referring to the looming canvass.<\/p>\n<h2>Not the \u2018Main Case\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>At least one other lawsuit is in the works, according to Lake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not our main case. When our main case drops, they will hear it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Lake reiterated that whistleblowers are coming forward and that officials \u201cbetter think long and hard\u201d before certifying the election in light of the widespread issues that unfolded in Maricopa County.<\/p>\n<p>The forthcoming suit may cite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/rnc-attorneys-that-surveyed-maricopa-county-voting-sites-confirm-widespread-problems_4879174.html\">findings from nearly a dozen Republican attorneys<\/a> who observed the election at Maricopa County sites and attested to the tabulator failures being more widespread than county officials presented.<\/p>\n<p>The issues led to \u201csubstantial voter suppression,\u201d attorney Mark Sonnenklar wrote in a memorandum summarizing the findings.
