Biden complained that semi-automatic firearms are still sold and claimed red-flag laws are not enforced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sick and tired of these shootings,\u201d Biden said. \u201cWe should have much stricter gun laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden then said he intends to pass a gun control bill during the lame-duck session if he can get the votes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to try,\u201d Biden replied. \u201cI\u2019m going to try to get rid of assault weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the lame duck?\u201d the reporter asked again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to do it whenever I \u2014 I got to make that assessment as I get in and start counting the votes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden in Nantucket:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The idea we still allow semiautomatic weapons to be purchased is sick. It has no social redeeming value. Zero. None\u2026I&#8217;m going to try to get rid of assault weapons&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 and \u2013<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No time to walk away from Ukraine\u2026I still believe there&#8217;s enough support there&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3ZIvR0KzIs\">pic.twitter.com\/3ZIvR0KzIs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Howard Mortman (@HowardMortman) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HowardMortman\/status\/1595832968026759168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 24, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, a Virginia\u00a0Walmart supervisor turned the store\u2019s break room into a bloodbath Tuesday night, gunning down six people, including employees, before killing himself even as shoppers were stocking up on last-minute\u00a0Thanksgiving Day\u00a0provisions.<\/p>\n<p>The gunman, who officials identified as a night supervisor and 12-year employee of the Chesapeake store, was dead when police arrived at approximately 10:14 p.m. It was not clear if he had killed himself or if he had been neutralized by workers. It was not immediately known if all the victims were store employees, what the gunman\u2019s motive was, or what type of handgun he used.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday night, another gunman opened fire at Club Q, a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs. The suspect entered the club and allegedly immediately began shooting before at least two patrons stopped him. Police arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect, but not before he allegedly killed five people.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-signs-most-expansive-gun-control-bill-in-decades-into-law-following-republican-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed<\/a> the sweeping gun control bill known as the \u201cBipartisan Safer Communities Act\u201d into law. According to a press release from the White House at the time, it \u201cenhances certain restrictions and penalties on firearms purchases; promotes evidence-based best practices for school safety; authorizes grants to expand access to mental health services; and appropriates emergency funding for mental health resources and school safety measures.\u201d The sweeping gun bill, considered the largest in decades, was passed on the back of bipartisan support from 15 Senate Republicans and 14 House Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the bill was passed, Democrats in the House of Representatives passed a bill to ban certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gun-grab-houses-passes-bill-banning-certain-semi-automatic-guns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">semi-automatic weapons<\/a>.
