Last year, its \u201cChristmas with Chosen: The Messengers\u201d opened with $4.2 million on opening weekend and reached number four overall. In total, the launch earned $13.7 million, making it the top-selling Fathom Event of all time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Chosen\u201d is considered the first-ever multi-season series about the life of Jesus. Directed by Dallas Jenkins, son of Left Behind series co-author Jerry Jenkins, \u201cThe Chosen\u201d became the most-successful crowdfunding effort of a streaming series.<\/p>\n<p>Widely distributed through its own app and at Angel Studios, the series has brought the Gospel accounts of the New Testament to life for a new generation accustomed to streaming content.<\/p>\n<p>The series is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.angel.com\/pay-it-forward\/the-chosen\/checkout?gclid=Cj0KCQiA4OybBhCzARIsAIcfn9kFYoJZWzr9cdhko3x6oIuN3RexDRlEVaaujeEZYWhFwPOZ44a6E-AaAmh_EALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crowdfunding<\/a> Season 4.
