Oral medications such as Viagra and Cialis &#8220;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/erectile-dysfunction\/diagnosis-treatment\/drc-20355782\" target=\"_blank\">enhance the effects<\/a> of nitric oxide, a natural chemical your body produces that relaxes muscles in the penis,&#8221; urologist <strong>Tobias Kohler<\/strong>, tells the Mayo Clinic. &#8220;This increases blood flow and allows you to get an erection in response to sexual stimulation.&#8221; Viagra has other potential health benefits as well: Research has found that it can help <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/bestlifeonline.com\/news-viagra-alzheimers-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\">decrease your risk<\/a> of Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.<\/p>\n<p>Kohler explains that other treatments include injectable medication, urethral suppository, and testosterone therapy. The<em> New York Post<\/em> reported that &#8220;New research has found injections of the anti-wrinkle drug into the penis provide &#8216;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/11\/03\/botox-helps-men-conquer-erectile-dysfunction-research-finds\/\" target=\"_blank\">a clear benefit<\/a>&#8216; for men suffering from erectile dysfunction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Botox is better known as <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/botox.html\" target=\"_blank\">an injectable drug<\/a> that reduces the appearance of wrinkles. But the <em>Post<\/em> says that using an &#8220;erection hardness scale,&#8221; a recent trial showed that &#8220;about half of participants improved their ranking on the scale, while a second trial showed 40 percent of impotent participants were successfully able to have sex at least three months after the treatment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The trial included only 362 participants, and the <em>Post<\/em> notes that further research is needed. In the meantime, preventative measures against ED can be effective. These include making healthy lifestyle choices and managing existing conditions, Ziegelmann tells the Mayo Clinic.
