Furthermore, many ballots were not counted because of a non-matching signature or some mistake in filling out the ballot. This means voters are being contacted about their ballot being rejected and given a chance to correct or \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox10phoenix.com\/news\/ballot-curing-in-arizona-what-is-it-and-why-you-need-to-act-now-if-youre-affected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cure<\/a>\u201d it. The window for doing this just ended on Nov. 17.<\/p>\n<p>Considering how <a href=\"https:\/\/babylonbee.com\/news\/katie-hobbs-projected-to-win-arizonas-governors-race-with-108-of-precincts-reporting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laughably convoluted this process is<\/a>, along with its many vulnerabilities to fraud and error, it\u2019s more than understandable to see why Lake, someone projected to win big and who faced a meek candidate who refused to debate her or even do much campaigning, refuses to give up. The glacially slow counting, the numerous malfunctioning printers and ballot machines, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/humanevents.com\/2022\/02\/28\/arizona-senate-study-finds-200k-ballots-counted-with-mismatched-signatures-during-2020-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recent history of gross irregularities<\/a> from the previous election all give ample reason for suspicion. There\u2019s also the added wrinkle of Hobbs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/11\/07\/katie-hobbs-wont-recuse-herself-from-overseeing-governors-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refusing to recuse herself<\/a> from the role of supervising the election \u2014 somehow this didn\u2019t constitute a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, for all this, the corporate media are blasting Lake for daring to challenge the election result, living up to her reputation as a dirty, rotten \u201celection denier.\u201d Here\u2019s just a small sampling of headlines: \u201cElection denier Kari Lake refuses to concede Arizona governor race she lost\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2022\/nov\/17\/kari-lake-refuse-concede-arizona-governor-election-republican\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Guardian<\/a>, \u201cKatie Hobbs elected Arizona\u2019s 5th female governor, defeating election denier Kari Lake\u201d in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/katie-hobbs-elected-arizona-e2-80-99s-5th-female-governor-defeating-election-denier-kari-lake\/ar-AA146NTV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arizona Republic<\/a>, \u201cKari Lake Is Denying Her Election Loss\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2022\/11\/kari-lake-vows-legal-fight-against-arizona-election-loss.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New York Magazine<\/a>, and \u201cDemocrat Katie Hobbs defeats election denier Kari Lake for Arizona governor, AP projects\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/democrat-katie-hobbs-defeats-election-denier-kari-lake-for-arizona-governor-ap-projects-022851797.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yahoo News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As David Harsanyi <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/22\/the-election-denier-smear-is-the-dumbest-rhetorical-device-in-modern-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has argued<\/a>, this charge of election denier \u2014 that is, a person who questions and\/or challenges elections \u2014 is a ridiculous criticism that stigmatizes perfectly rational behavior in a democracy. Furthermore, it\u2019s a label that applies far more to Democrats despite being exclusively directed at Republicans. This insult (coupled with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/05\/19\/politics\/donald-trump-big-lie-explainer\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the big lie<\/a>\u201d) became popular in 2020 after Donald Trump and many of his supporters claimed the presidential election was stolen.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s no secret that the left continues to call its opponents election deniers because it has been an effective tool to silence dissent. It casts people like Trump and Lake as unhinged losers who are ready to smash the whole system because they didn\u2019t win. Thus, to give even the slightest credence to their objections is tantamount to undermining \u201cOur Democracy.\u201d And if anyone thinks that is an exaggeration, they should know that hundreds of Jan. 6 protesters have been <a href=\"https:\/\/amgreatness.com\/2021\/07\/08\/no-relief-for-lego-man-or-other-january-6-detainees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thrown in prison and denied bail<\/a> because they were \u201celection deniers\u201d who ostensibly posed a threat to the country.<\/p>\n<p>However, the more successful it is to slander people as \u201celection deniers,\u201d the more destructive it becomes.
