James Comer (R-KY), who will be the chairman of the House Oversight Committee in the new Congress, appeared on Sirius XM\u2019s <em>Breitbart News Saturday<\/em> and emphasized that Hunter and James Biden\u2019s bank statements are going to be central to the committee\u2019s investigation into President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">On Thursday, Comer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/11\/17\/gop-house-opens-probe-biden-family-potential-tax-evasion-money-laundering-human-trafficking-violations\/\">announced<\/a> at a press conference that the Oversight Committee would be launching an investigation into the Biden family for potential violations, including \u201cwire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, tax evasion, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>While speaking with <em>Breitbart News Saturday<\/em> host Matthew Boyle over the weekend, Comer said the first focus of the investigation would be to obtain bank records from President Biden\u2019s son, Hunter, and James Biden, the president\u2019s brother.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17839490\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/may12-2021-rep-james-comer-r-ky-getty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17839490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/may12-2021-rep-james-comer-r-ky-getty.jpg\" alt=\"Comer\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>James Comer (R-KY) on Capitol Hill on May 12, 2021 in Washington, DC. (Jonathan Ernst-Pool\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe focus is on day one are those bank violations and those bank records,\u201d said Comer. \u201cWe are pretty confident in what we\u2019re going to find in those. We have two bank violations. We have some bank statements in hand, and we believe that suspicious activity reports, which are bank violations when the bank notifies the federal government that we\u2019re pretty confident that our client has committed a crime, Hunter Biden and Jim Biden have at least 150 of those. And I\u2019ve said this before, and I come from a strong banking background, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anyone in the history of the United States that\u2019s had that many suspicious activity reports.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSo there\u2019s precedents here in trying to get those suspicious activity reports,\u201d added the representative from Kentucky. \u201cAnd before Joe Biden became president, congressional committees had access to that. Joe Biden changed the rules to where Congress couldn\u2019t get access to suspicious activity reports when he became president. I wonder why? It\u2019s because his family had 150 of those.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>LISTEN:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comer added that the U.S. Treasury Department should provide the bank records and suspicious activity reports, but he plans to subpoena the banks if the Treasury Department does not cooperate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Boyle asked Comer if Americans could expect hearings featuring bank and government officials and members of the Biden family, as well as an investigation report at the culmination of the probe and a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYes, that\u2019s all of the above,\u201d Comer replied. \u201cWith respect to the hearings, we really need to have some of these bank records in hand and comb through those before we have a good hearing because we are confident that the president has lied about his involvement in all of these shady business dealings. We are confident that many of these businesses have broken many laws in the United States, so we need to have 100% evidence that we can demonstrate and show to the American people about the severity of the wrongdoing of the Biden influence-peddling schemes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have two bank records\u2026 and one of the suspicious activity reports, basically, is a situation where Hunter Biden got a significant deposit from China from an unmarked account, which\u2026doesn\u2019t happen in the banking world, you know, there\u2019s always a name and address,\u201d Comer later noted. \u201cAll they know is it came from China. And he\u2019s shifting it around to all these accounts he has, which is a\u2026 pattern of money laundering. And we know that\u2019s part of what the Delaware U.S. attorney is looking at, money laundering. We need to know the source of his revenue. If the president\u2019s family is getting millions of dollars from China, we need to know what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHunter Biden wasn\u2019t manufacturing anything; he didn\u2019t own any real estate. He wasn\u2019t licensed to sell anything. He wasn\u2019t licensed to be a lobbyist,\u201d Comer went on to point out. \u201cWhat the heck business were they in? Its influence peddling, which is illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The soon-to-be Oversight Committee chairman also expressed concerns that the investigation could be impeded if Hunter Biden is indicted by the U.S Attorney\u2019s Office in Delaware.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">\u201cThe troubling thing to me, and one reason I wanted to have the press conference so soon was I\u2019ve always predicted that the U.S. Attorney DOJ will indict Hunter Biden before January to protect him from subpoena,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo if he\u2019s under indictment, we\u2019ll never get him in front of the committee. And what we were hearing was he was gonna be indicted for tax evasion and lying on the gun application.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u201cI\u00a0<\/span>wanted to throw some other things out there that I really can\u2019t go into great detail,\u201d continued Comer. \u201cThe human trafficking, that\u2019s pretty serious, and obviously, the fact that no one in the mainstream media wrote about that, and no one in the White House commented on that, there\u2019s a\u2026 huge problem with Hunter Biden. And remember, the laptop has videos on it. So the U.S. Attorney is not going to get away with just putting a little slap on the wrist for a misdemeanor and indicting Hunter Biden just to protect him from congressional oversight. We want the American people to know there\u2019s a laundry list of items that Hunter Biden is potentially in huge trouble over. And this is not going to go away if they appoint a Hunter Biden Special Counsel or if they indict Hunter Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I feel like the press conference was very effective, and at the very least, we\u2019re transparent with the American people on exactly where we\u2019re doing on day one,\u201d he added. \u201cThis is an investigation of Joe Biden.
