The B-21 Raider will form the backbone of the future Air Force bomber force consisting of B-21s and B-52s. Designed to operate in tomorrow\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.19fortyfive.com\/2022\/11\/stealth-bomber-faceoff-americas-b-21-raider-vs-russias-pak-da\/\">high-end threat environment<\/a>, the\u00a0B-21 Raider\u00a0will play a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.19fortyfive.com\/2022\/11\/why-america-needs-the-b-21-raider-stealth-bomber\/\">critical role<\/a> in ensuring America\u2019s enduring airpower capability.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The B-21 Raider and Nukes\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforcetimes.com\/news\/your-air-force\/2022\/10\/21\/b-1-bombers-again-deploy-to-guam-amid-pacific-tensions\/\">U.S. military<\/a>\u00a0is long due to update its nuclear arsenal. All three legs of the nuclear triad, the air, naval, and ground nuclear weapons of the U.S., need urgent modernization so as not to become obsolete.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0B-21 Raider\u00a0is set to become the main delivery aircraft of the nuclear triad\u2019s air component. As a result, there is a lot depending on the effectiveness of the strategic stealth bomber. Should one leg of the nuclear triad become ineffective, the U.S. military\u2019s whole nuclear deterrence would be at risk.\n<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0B-21 Raider\u00a0will be part of a larger family of manned and unmanned systems that will be able to conduct strategic long range strike, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and electronic attack, among other mission sets. The B-21 Raider, specifically, will be able to carry both conventional and nuclear munitions, including stand-off, stand-in, and direct-attack weapons. The\u00a0B-21 Raider\u00a0has been designed with mainly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/interestingengineering.com\/innovation\/china-h-20-stealth-bomber-all-we-know\">China<\/a>\u00a0in mind.
