says Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis\u00a0at the site, &#8220;most of us aren\u2019t deterred from taking to the highways to observe Thanksgiving with those that matter most to us, especially as precautions from the pandemic have eased.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Inflation remains painfully high, despite being down from its 41-year high in June.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The last two years under the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/breaking-twitter-fact-checks-biden-over-gas-price\">Biden administration<\/a> have seen extraordinarily high gas prices not seen in almost a decade.<\/p>\n<p>The President has repeatedly taken credit for lowering gas prices from a record high over the summer, all the while failing to acknowledge the fact that gas prices remain higher than the previous years average of $3.20 per gallon.<\/p>\n<p>To put that in perspective, the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/its-nuanced-white-house-refuses-to-own-rising-gas-prices-after-taking-credit-for-lowering-them\">average cost<\/a> per gallon at the tail end of the Trump administration was around $2.30.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 2022 caused a <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/breaking-biden-says-gas-prices-will-rise-calls-it-putins-price-hike\">spike in gas prices<\/a>, referred to as &#8220;Putin&#8217;s price hike&#8221;
