Tell them what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t remember if it was Cougar or Viper, but your friends had named the security guards and gave them code names,\u201d Brunt shared. \u201cSo we were chaperoned like a couple of high school sophomores going to the prom \u2026 but anyways, our first kiss was also in front of security \u2014 which is hard to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/tudor-dixon-tells-megyn-kelly-what-she-thinks-about-colberts-apology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News host<\/a> agreed, explaining that her security members \u201capproved of\u201d Doug, and said \u201cotherwise, it wouldn\u2019t have worked out\u201d because she \u201ctrusted their opinions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut after that first kiss, I did not do well, audience,\u201d Kelly admitted. \u201cI did not. I was embarrassed, Cougar and Viper were watching us. And it was just awkward AF [as f***], as the kids say. And so the next day, when we went back to pick up Doug at his hotel, I said to Cougar and Viper, \u2018You stay where you are. I got something I need to do.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I went into the hotel,\u201d she added. \u201cI pressed the buzzer on Doug\u2019s door and he\u2019s looking for the security \u2026 I\u2019m like, \u2018I can do better. That was not my best effort last night.\u2019 And of course Doug was like, \u2018right this way.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kelly kept the details quiet about how that second kiss went, but said simply, \u201cand things went from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a crazy beginning and we did get married, it was a whirlwind romance. I was mesmerized by you and remain mesmerized by you,\u201d the host shared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a journal entry that I kept at the time that has a picture of you \u2026 I wrote something to the effect of, \u2018Is it possible that this guy loves me and isn\u2019t a serial killer? \u2026 there\u2019s got to be a shoe to drop here because he\u2019s too good,\u2019 and now I\u2019m happy to say 15 years of marriage later, it\u2019s not fake, you\u2019re real, you\u2019re just as awesome as I always knew you were \u2026\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly and Brunt tied the knot in 2008, and share three children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Megyn Kelly spoke to her husband, novelist Doug Brunt, on the latest episode of her podcast and revealed why their first kiss did not go as planned.
