Later that day, she sent her daughter, 36-year-old Amanda Bearden, a chilling text that said, \u201cThey are not going to let me go, love you.\u201d Collier also sent Bearden $2,385 over Venmo.<\/p>\n<p>In late September, police\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-details-emerge-regarding-debbie-colliers-movements-on-day-she-disappeared\">released<\/a>\u00a0surveillance footage of Collier entering the Family Dollar Store in Clayton, Georgia, on Saturday, September 10. She was alone in the video. The HCSO\u2019s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) said in a press release on September 26 that Collier entered the store on September 10 around 2:55 p.m. and exited at 3:09 p.m. While there, Collier appeared calm and \u201cnot in fear of anything,\u201d the CID said in its press release. Authorities said she purchased a rain poncho, a refillable torch lighter, paper towels, a large tarp, and a reusable tote back.<\/p>\n<p>Collier was found in a ravine 60 miles from her Athens, Georgia, home on September 11, with severe burns to her body and the remains of a burned tarp nearby, The Daily Wire previously\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/husband-son-of-mom-who-sent-chilling-final-text-speak-out-after-her-death\">reported<\/a>. The Habersham County Sheriff\u2019s office said in its incident report that an investigator \u201cobserved a nude female laying on her back, grasping a small tree with her right hand,\u201d about 30 feet from the road. The report also said Collier had \u201ccharring to her abdomen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her death had been treated as a homicide until now, with Habersham County Deputy Coroner Ken Franklin <a href=\"https:\/\/nowhabersham.com\/breaking-now-debbie-colliers-death-ruled-suicide\/\">telling<\/a> Now Habersham that Collier died from \u201cinhalation of superheated gases, thermal injuries, and hydrocodone intoxication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty evident that she started the fire. From what I saw and what I considered to be the case is that this was a self-inflicted death, but I was relying on the results of the autopsy and the doctor at the lab to make the final call,\u201d Franklin said.<\/p>\n<p>Franklin also told the outlet that he spoke to family members before releasing the results of the autopsy to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad it\u2019s over, but I\u2019m sorry for the family and all that they have had to go through,\u201d he said. \u201cAll of the questioning and suspicion and things they\u2019ve had to go through made it difficult for them to live a normal life.
