James Comer (R-Ky.) told CNN in an interview broadcast Friday that the committee intends to use its power to compel testimony from the 52-year-old Hunter about his extensive overseas businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no plans to subpoena Joe Biden. A Hollywood attorney associated with the first son recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/08\/hollywood-lawyer-kevin-morris-paid-off-over-2m-of-hunter-bidens-taxes\/\">paid the IRS about\u00a0$2\u00a0million<\/a>\u00a0in back taxes in an effort to head off criminal charges.<\/p>\n<p>That federal probe reportedly also deals with potential money laundering and illegal foreign lobbying \u2014 and the FBI reportedly believes it has enough evidence to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/06\/federal-agents-have-evidence-to-charge-hunter-biden-report\/\">charge the first son<\/a> with tax crimes as well as lying about his drug use on a gun-purchase form.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/hunter-joe-biden-2010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/hunter-joe-biden-2010.jpg\" alt=\"\" There \/><\/a><figcaption>\u201cThere\u2019s no plans to subpoena Joe Biden. Hunter introduced his dad to incoming\u00a0BHR\u00a0CEO Jonathan Li in a hotel lobby and Joe Biden later wrote\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/06\/biden-wrote-college-rec-for-son-of-chinese-exec-tied-to-hunter\/\">college recommendation letters\u00a0<\/a>for Li\u2019s children.<\/p>\n<p>In a different Chinese business venture, Hunter and James Biden\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/hunter-biden-china-laptop\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">earned $4.8 million<\/a>\u00a0from CEFC China Energy \u2014 an arm of Beijing\u2019s foreign-influence \u201cBelt and Road\u201d initiative \u2014 in 2017 and 2018, according to the href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/28\/joe-biden-regular-at-dc-hotspot-where-he-met-hunters-associates\/\">attended a 2015 dinner<\/a>\u00a0at DC\u2019s\u00a0Cafe\u00a0Milano\u00a0to which his son invited an array of associates \u2014 including a Burisma executive, a trio of Kazakhs, and Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina and her husband, ex-Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov. <\/p>\n<p>Baturina allegedly paid\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/09\/23\/hunter-biden-received-3-5m-from-russian-billionaire-report\/\">$3.5 million<\/a>\u00a0to a firm associated with Hunter Biden and remains one of just a handful of Russian billionaires not to face US sanctions in response to this year\u2019s Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a
