Nine employees were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/get-woke-go-broke-spacex-fires-employees-who-wrote-a-letter-blasting-elon-musks-behavior-and-values\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eventually fired<\/a> over the document after SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell wrote in an email that \u201cwe have too much critical work to accomplish and no need for this kind of overreaching activism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter cited an alleged incident during which a flight attendant accused Musk of exposing himself several years ago, touching her, and offering to buy her a horse in exchange for an erotic massage. Shotwell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/spacex-president-tells-employees-she-does-not-believe-elon-musk-sexual-misconduct-allegations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismissed the claims<\/a> in a message to the company, although the former employees claimed they had pressed Edwards about the incident during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The document also came after Musk announced that he would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-tips-hat-toward-ron-desantis-to-be-next-president-of-the-united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vote<\/a> for Republicans in the midterm elections. The world\u2019s richest man formerly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/get-woke-go-broke-elon-musk-says-woke-mind-virus-makes-netflix-unwatchable-as-shares-plummet-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">identified<\/a> the \u201cwoke mind virus\u201d as the \u201cbiggest threat\u201d to civilization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElon\u2019s behavior in the public sphere is a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us, particularly in recent weeks,\u201d according to the letter, which purportedly represented employees \u201cacross the spectra of gender, ethnicity, seniority, and technical roles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers who filed charges on behalf of eight former SpaceX employees said that the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/milestone-documents\/national-labor-relations-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guarantees<\/a> access to collective bargaining privileges, likely renders the dismissals illegal. The National Labor Relations Board is granted authority to \u201carbitrate deadlocked labor-management disputes, guarantee democratic union elections, and penalize unfair labor practices by employers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new legal action occurs weeks after Musk purchased social media platform Twitter and instituted reforms designed to promote freedom of expression.
