Tax Collector; the program is being led by Lyon-Martin Community Health Services and The Transgender District.<\/p>\n<p>The payments will be unconditional for successful applications, who can spend the money on anything they want.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor\u2019s Office also said the program would provide other resources such as so-called \u201cgender-affirming medical and mental health care,\u201d as well as financial coaching.<\/p>\n<p>The program also announced on its website it would be accepting applications from November 15 to December 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/more-people-fleeing-san-francisco-than-any-other-metro-area-in-us\/\">More People Fleeing San Francisco than Any Other Metro Area in US<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Guaranteed Income Programs allow us to help our residents when they need it most as part of our city\u2019s economic recovery and our commitment to creating a more just city for all,\u201d Breed told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that our trans communities experience much higher rates of poverty and discrimination, so this program will target support to lift individuals in this community up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The city launched similar programs throughout 2021 to help starving artists affected by the COVID pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The program gave 130 San Francisco-based artists $1,000 a month in income for six months, with no strings attached.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Chicago<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicago.gov\/city\/en\/sites\/resilient-communities-pilot\/home\/faqs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> launched<\/a> a similar guaranteed income program earlier this year to promote \u201cequitable recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the $31.5 million pilot program, called the \u201cChicago Resilient Communities Pilot,\u201d offering $500 monthly payments to 5,000 Chicago families for one year \u201cto provide additional economic stability.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city of San Francisco is offering an exclusive stimulus program only for transgender residents.
