The father had taken his kid to the annual Blue and White scrimmage in Pikeville a few weeks ago after getting off work.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Calipari noted that the image made him think of his own family roots and made a public VIP offer as he asked for help to find the man, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/basketball-coach-sees-familiar-site-of-coal-miner-and-son-in-stands-makes-public-vip-offer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Wire<\/a> previously reported. Last week, the coach came through for the family.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Michael McGuire and his family getting the VIP treatment tonight at Rupp Arena. McGuire is the coal miner who Coach Calipari spotted in the crowd at the Blue and White scrimmage in Pikeville a few weeks ago. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WHAS11?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WHAS11<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Xst1UiK4OU\">pic.twitter.com\/Xst1UiK4OU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Travis Breese (@tbreeseontv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tbreeseontv\/status\/1591240910376878080?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the game, a reporter asked McGuire about being a \u201csuper dad\u201d following the viral image and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vOJwDaiPXLc&#038;t=271s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coal miner said<\/a> it was about being there for your kid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust doing what I always do,\u201d McGuire responded. \u201cPretty much part of it. I\u2019ve shown up at countless Pee Wee baseball games like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My family\u2019s American dream started in a Clarksburg, WV coal mine, so this picture hits home.<\/p>\n<p>From what I\u2019ve been told, after his shift, he raced to be with his son &#038; watch our team.
