Fed economists <a href=\"https:\/\/libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org\/2022\/11\/balances-are-on-the-rise-so-who-is-taking-on-more-credit-card-debt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org\/2022\/11\/balances-are-on-the-rise-so-who-is-taking-on-more-credit-card-debt\/&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1668709082297000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2VWfG4Cr5W7ChQxY26Qd-D\">said<\/a> in the report. &#8220;Notably, credit card balances have grown at nearly double that rate since last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Total credit card debt reached $930 billion in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Paying off this debt is more difficult right now, CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/11\/16\/credit-card-balances-jump-15percent-as-americans-fall-deeper-in-debt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/11\/16\/credit-card-balances-jump-15percent-as-americans-fall-deeper-in-debt.html&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1668709082297000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2BnLxFzVNTIyXCTKQUzJIQ\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Meanwhile, &#8220;high inflation and high interest rates are making it harder than ever to pay down credit card debt,&#8221;
