The world\u2019s richest man has already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/read-it-elon-musk-sends-blunt-message-to-3700-fired-twitter-employees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reduced headcount<\/a> by half and fired a handful of employees who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-employee-calls-out-elon-musk-on-twitter-it-doesnt-end-well-for-the-employee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">publicly opposed<\/a> him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing forward, to build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive world, we will need to be extremely hardcore,\u201d the email from Musk explained, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.co.za\/read-musks-midnight-email-telling-twitter-staff-work-long-hours-2022-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> from Business Insider. \u201cThis will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk, who says he has worked 120 hours per week in the past but considers working 80 hours per week to be \u201cpretty sustainable,\u201d said days ago during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/i-torture-myself-elon-musk-sheds-light-on-just-how-enormous-his-workload-is\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> that his own schedule can be somewhat chaotic. \u201cI mean, I have too much work on my plate, that is for sure. No doubt about it,\u201d he commented. \u201cThe amount that I torture myself is next level, frankly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk said in the email that employees must assent to being \u201cpart of the new Twitter\u201d through a Google Form by the end of the workday Thursday, or else they would \u201creceive three months of severance.\u201d He also hinted at further layoffs for non-technical employees who do not have an immediate impact on running the website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwitter will also be much more engineering-driven,\u201d Musk continued. \u201cDesign and product management will still be very important and report to me, but those writing great code will constitute the majority of our team and have the greatest sway. At its heart, Twitter is a software and servers company, so I think this makes sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The continued dismissal of Twitter employees occurs after Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/musk-fires-person-who-censored-hunter-biden-story-banned-conservative-accounts-buckle-up-motherfs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immediately fired<\/a> members of the company\u2019s leadership upon taking control of the platform, including chief executive Parag Agrawal and legal czar Vijaya Gadde, who pushed for the suspension of former President Donald Trump and suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story days before the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months, Musk has also campaigned against the widespread use of remote work within his companies.
