She also said the movies she\u2019s been working on helped inspire the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy husband and I have been wanting more nature for a long time. We were kind of ready to not be in a city anymore,\u201d the actress told <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/home\/danica-mckellar-on-moving-to-rural-tennessee\/\">People magazine<\/a> in a recent interview. \u201cI am just loving the fact that my Christmas movie characters have rubbed off on me. I think it\u2019s just a wonderful example of life imitating art.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McKellar, one of many stars who recently switched from The Hallmark Channel to the new Great American Family network, has lived in L.A. for most of her life but knew it was time to make a change. Working on Christmas movies has also gotten her excited for the holiday season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m gonna have a Christmas tree up probably next week. Let\u2019s get this going,\u201d she told People.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The publication noted that the actress and her husband, Scott Sveslosky, moved to a Nashville suburb as they are still interested in the arts and music scene.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cMemphis and Nashville are both entertainment cities. They\u2019re known for music. Being from L.A. and being an entertainer, it\u2019s nice to have creative people around,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, honestly, it\u2019s mostly about the backyard,\u201d McKellar, who has a 12-year-old son from her previous marriage, told People. The \u201cWonder Years\u201d alum said she especially enjoys the changing seasons, including the leaves turning different colors during fall.<\/p>\n<p>McKellar joins a growing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hollywood-is-not-america-why-so-many-celebrities-are-leaving-los-angeles\">list of celebrities<\/a> who have been vocal about leaving California for various reasons. Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves moved their three children to Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been great,\u201d Alves said of the change. \u201cIt really embodies our belief system, especially the ones I grew up with, like going to church every Sunday, saying \u2018yes ma\u2019am\u2019 or \u2018no, sir.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Singer Katy Perry said the same about moving to Kentucky, explaining how it made her realize, \u201cHollywood is not America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d actor James Van Der Beek moved his wife and five kids to a 36-acre ranch in Texas.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019re so happy right now,\u201d he said of the move. \u201cIt\u2019s been really good for all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yet another celebrity is leaving Los Angeles for a new way of life.
