He added that it would also include the remainder of early ballots received before Election Day, as well as \u201ca good amount\u201d of the approximately 17,000 ballots from in-person voters, whose ballots were placed into secure boxes after tabulators did not read them at polling centers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In a press release, Maricopa County officials <a href=\"https:\/\/elections.maricopa.gov\/news-and-information\/elections-news\/maricopa-county-election-results-updated-november-11-2022.html\">stated<\/a> that an estimated 265,000-275,000 outstanding ballots remained after Friday night\u2019s results and reported the breakdown of these remaining ballots to be:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span>Estimated Election Day ballots to be reported: 5,000<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span>Estimated early ballots left to process and tabulate: 254,000<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span>Estimated number of early ballots left to cure: 13,000<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span>Estimated provisional ballots left to research: 1,114 (7,885 total)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ABC 15 Data Analyst Stephen Archer offered insight as to why Friday\u2019s ballot drop favored Democrats when the majority of the ballots were the Election Day early votes thought to break for Republcians.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Curious as to where the early votes came from in this evening&#8217;s Maricopa drop?<\/p>\n<p>The answer is everywhere, but there was a concentration of ballots from South Phoenix. These were not included in Friday night\u2019s results, and it is not clear when they will be reported.<\/p>\n<p>He later added that \u201cbased on the affidavit transmission party data we still have some very, very friendly batches coming for R slate in Maricopa.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Not that I want to rain on anyone&#8217;s party. But a reminder that based on the affidavit transmission party data we still have some very, very friendly batches coming for R slate in Maricopa. Most of the outstanding ballots are from vote rich GOP strongholds in the East Valley past Gilbert Rd. and north of loop 101. Probably worth a point or two to the overall total for GOP slate.<\/p>\n<p>As I said before: Knife&#8217;s edge. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/597c8sRR13\">https:\/\/t.co\/597c8sRR13<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The AZ \u2013 abc15 \u2013 Data Guru (@Garrett_Archer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Garrett_Archer\/status\/1591500341589471232?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cProbably worth a point or two to the overall total for GOP slate.\u201d He added. \u201cAs I said before: Knife\u2019s edge.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><strong>Box Three Ballots \u201cCo-mingled\u201d with Tabulated Votes at Maricopa Two Vote Centers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On Friday, Masters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2022\/11\/11\/blake-masters-rips-mcconnell-he-doesnt-deserve-to-be-a-majority-leader-or-a-minority-leader\/\">appeared<\/a> on Fox News\u2019s Tucker Carlson Tonight and told Host Tucker Carlson that ballots from the 17,000 Election Day in-person voters that were not read by tabulators and submitted into Box Three were \u201cmixed-up\u2026with ballots that had already been counted.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it\u2019s a giant disaster, it\u2019s a giant mess to try to unmix these ballots,\u201d he added. \u201cI think the most honest thing at this point would be for Maricopa County to wipe the slate clean and just take all of the ballots and do a fresh count.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/11\/12\/politics\/vote-counting-maricopa-county-elections-allegation-misconduct\">acknowledged<\/a> to CNN that the box three ballots were \u201cco-mingled\u201d with Election Day in-person votes at \u201ctwo vote centers\u201d and said the county has a process for separating the ballots:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>There were two vote centers where the ballots that went into box three were actually co-mingled with the ballots that went through the tabulator. Now here is the thing, we can absolutely address this and we will. In those two instances we know exactly how many people checked in at that vote center. We can then check the total number of ballots that were left there, either tabulated or in box three, and determine if they\u2019re the same. We can segregate those out and make a determination and best thing of all is that we will do this with a Republican and Democrat observers watching this to make sure everything that checks out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2022\/11\/12\/midterm-elections-bill-gates-maricopa-county-arizona-ballot-mixing-sot-vpx.cnn\">added<\/a> that \u201cevery one of those votes is going to be tabulated\u201d and that \u201cwiping this slate clean\u201d and \u201ccounting over again\u201d is \u201cnot allowed for under Arizona law.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><strong>Hand Count Audit Begins Saturday<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At a press conference on Friday, Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Wt6HDHRB-jo\">noted<\/a> that a \u201chand count audit\u201d in Maricopa County was set to start Saturday:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is a very important part of the process, it\u2019s required under Arizona law, and this hand count audit allows us to ensure that the machines are operating correctly. This will be a statistically<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>significantly amount of ballots that will be involved and there\u2019s two parts of it. First of all there are the early \u2013 they\u2019re the early ballots, the mail-in ballots \u2013 and those have actually been selected, the batches have been selected over the past few weeks by the political parties\u2026<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u2026\u00a0<\/span>So they\u2019ve been identifying batches, and then also there was a drawing on Wednesday to select the vote centers that are involved in that and there are five Vote Centers, I believe. Interestingly, they are all form the west valley, but these were selected randomly, and we\u2019ll be looking at a few races so its not a hand count of all the races.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n[embedded content]\n<p>He added that the races involved in the audit will be the \u201cU.S. Congress, State Rep., Propr 129, and governor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo again, this is mandated by law, and we are very confident this is going to go well, but these are three-person boards,\u201d said Gates.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Megan Gilbertson, the Communications Director for the Maricopa County Elections Department, said that the Vote Centers included in the audit are \u201cFlight Goodyear, Journey Church, Estrella Foothills High School, Maryville Bridge, and Sevilla Elementary.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">The voting locations were randomly selected out of a hat by the county\u2019s three political party chairs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gilbertson added that \u201cstatistically significant\u201d \u201cmeans that there\u2019s enough ballots selected in that to ensure that the tabulation equipment is counting ballots accurately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a vote count verification committee in the state of Arizona that selects that margin and is able to ensure that the ballots that are counted will make sure that the tabulation equipment is counting those ballots accurately, so it\u2019s just one more check on the system,\u201d she added.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u201cIt\u2019s by law, so it\u2019s one percent of early ballots, or five thousand, whichever is fewer.
