The film is \u201cdriven completely by audio interviews of kids ages 5-10\u201d and explores \u201chow children are able to experience a world outside of the traditional gender binary.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cHow do kids, many of whom embrace this gender nonbinary, perceive their own and their parents\u2019 gender? What are the ways in which children of nonbinary people are freed up to express themselves in a whole new range of forms?\u201d the director, Sally Rubin, a tenured professor at Chapman University, asks in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cParents, teachers, and kids are now in a place where they are ready to begin talking about these issues, ready to bring these conversations into the home, and into the classroom,\u201d Rubin notes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rubin goes on to explain why she thinks the film is particularly important now, saying, \u201cWhile legislation around gender and identity continues to try to keep kids from being who they are \u2026 MAMA HAS A MUSTACHE seeks to explore and uncover this exciting new frontier\u2013with lightness, humor, childlike openness, and play.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The director is particularly interested in embedding this film into classrooms. She notes that they will be promoting the film in a number of ways, including by creating \u201ca teaching toolkit &#038; discussion guide for in-classroom use.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\"><span>Rubin created the film in conjunction with Max Strebel, the director of animation, and Stacy Goldate, the editor and co-producer. All three identify as either queer or nonbinary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>The film has a number of sponsors but one stands out from the rest. Bayer, a multinational pharmaceutical corporation, is among the film\u2019s sponsors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bayer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayer.com\/sites\/default\/files\/DIANE_35_EN_PI.pdf\"><span>produces<\/span><\/a><span> a drug called cyproterone acetate, an anti-androgen that has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6612061\/\"><span>been used<\/span><\/a><span> to feminize men who identify as women. Bayer creates <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bayer.com\/sites\/default\/files\/ANDROCUR_10_mg_EN_PI.pdf\"><span>multiple different<\/span><\/a><span> forms of the drug.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt is often used in combination with estrogens in trans women to achieve feminization,\u201d one <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/jcem\/article\/106\/10\/e3936\/6298578\"><span>study<\/span><\/a><span> that discusses the use of <\/span><span>cyproterone acetate<\/span><span> reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Transgender activist Zinnia Jones discussed the use of cyproterone acetate in an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/zinniajones.medium.com\/four-low-cost-alternatives-to-puberty-blockers-for-transgender-adolescents-c02f3f61ca52\"><span>article<\/span><\/a><span> titled \u201cFour low-cost alternatives to puberty blockers for transgender adolescents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\"><span>One <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34125226\/\"><span>study<\/span><\/a><span> from 2021 attempted to find the lowest possible dose of cyproterone acetate that could be used in \u201ctrans women\u201d in order to achieve the intended results.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Joshua Safer, who is now the director of the Mount Sinai Gender Clinic, co-authored an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/endo\/clinics\/transgender-medicine\/guidelines\/\"><span>article<\/span><\/a><span> in 2013 that discussed the use of cyproterone acetate in order to feminize men.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Breitbart News <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/07\/28\/puberty-blocker-manufacturer-paid-director-mount-sinai-transgender-clinic-consulting\/\"><span>previously revealed<\/span><\/a><span> that Joshua Safer received financial compensation from Endo Pharmaceuticals, which produces Supprelin LA, a drug that is commonly used off-label as a puberty blocker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One of the cyproterone acetate drugs that Bayer creates is called Diane-35ED. The drug also includes ethinylestradiol, which assists in the feminization of a man who attempts to transition into a woman. The drug has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0955395914001637\"><span>been used<\/span><\/a><span> by men who attempt to grow breasts in order to appear feminine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Breitbart News has revealed that pharmaceutical interests that profit from transgenderism have continuously <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/08\/12\/puberty-blocker-manufacturers-fund-pro-trans-doctors-medical-associations-activist-organization\/\"><span>worked to normalize<\/span><\/a><span> the phenomena.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/07\/18\/company-under-investigation-puberty-blockers-sponsors-pro-trans-children-organization\/\"><span>investigative report<\/span><\/a><span> from Breitbart News found that the GenderCool Project, which seeks to normalize child transgenderism by securing high profile media appearances for youth who identify as transgender, was sponsored by AbbVie Pharmaceuticals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Children involved in the organization, as well as founders Jennifer Grosshandler and Gearah Goldstein, appeared on the <em>Today Show<\/em> with Megyn Kelly. In another instance, activists from the organization met with President Biden at the White House and even spoke from behind the presidential podium.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here are several children promoting transgenderism on national TV. One came out at 9.<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;d they get that platform?<\/p>\n<p>A thread on the organization pushing child transgenderism in media and their sponsor, a pharma company that&#8217;s under investigation for selling puberty blockers. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SkQRB2yUSF\">pic.twitter.com\/SkQRB2yUSF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Spencer Lindquist \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@SpencerLndqst) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SpencerLndqst\/status\/1549401941708521475?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 19, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>AbbVie produces Lupron, a puberty blocking drug that has also been used to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT00220350\"><span>chemically castrate<\/span><\/a><span> sex offenders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Breitbart News also revealed that several doctors, including the directors of various gender clinics at children\u2019s hospitals, have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/08\/12\/puberty-blocker-manufacturers-fund-pro-trans-doctors-medical-associations-activist-organization\/\"><span>received financial compensation<\/span><\/a><span> from AbbVie and Endo Pharmaceuticals, which both create puberty blocking medication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Neither director Sally Rubin or Bayer responded to a request for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Spencer Lindquist is a reporter for Breitbart News.
