But they didn\u2019t. revealed McCarthy speaking with Scalise regarding concern over fellow Republicans \u2013 particularly America First Representatives Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), and Mo Brooks (R-AL) \u2013 \u2018putting other lawmakers at risk\u2019 with their comments about the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>He said that referring to Republican candidates not willing to fight the election results as Carlson to eviscerate McCarthy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose are the tape-recorded words of Congressman Kevin McCarthy, a man who in private, turns out, sounds like an MSNBC contributor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson warned at the time that McCarthy becoming Speaker \u201cwould mean you would have a Republican Congress led by a puppet of the Democratic Party.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote
