Vance Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about those bills, McDaniel affirmed that they \u201ccame from the Letitia James lawsuit that started while [Trump] was president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut we cannot do in-kind contributions to any candidate right now. He\u2019s the former president being attacked from every which way with lawsuits, and he\u2019s certainly raised more under the RNC than we\u2019ve spent on these bills,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>In early 2021, the RNC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/republicans-to-stay-neutral-in-2024-primary-even-if-trump-runs-again-rnc-chairwoman_3675462.html\">declined<\/a> to back 2024 presidential primary candidates, even if former President Donald Trump chose to run again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe party has to stay neutral. I\u2019m not telling anybody to run or not to run in 2024,\u201d McDaniel said in the interview with The Associated Press. \u201cThat\u2019s going to be up to those candidates going forward. What I really do want to see him do, though, is help us win back majorities in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former president has yet to make any official announcement of the 2024\u00a0presidential bid, but has repeatedly teased the possibility that he might run. At the Nov. 3 rally in Iowa, Trump dropped another hint, saying he would \u201cvery, very, very, probably do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked by Bash if Trump will announce his run soon, McDaniel said she had no idea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t even know what I\u2019m doing for Thanksgiving right now, let alone thinking about 2024,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n<h2>Lawsuits Against Trump<\/h2>\n<p>On Sept. 21, James filed her civil lawsuit against Trump, The Trump Organization, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Trump\u2019s business associates over alleged fraud, claiming that the value of Trump\u2019s assets was inflated.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2018, James campaigned with the goal of filing a lawsuit against then-president Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m running for attorney general because I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president when our fundamental rights are at stake,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=D1yj0NKSsuU\">said<\/a>\u00a0at the time.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest move, Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-lawsuit-claims-ny-attorney-general-letitia-james-pursuing-crusade_4838894.html\">fired back<\/a> at James with the lawsuit describing her legal action against him as a \u201crelentless\u201d and public \u201ccrusade \u2026 with the stated goal of destroying him personally, financially, and politically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile in 2019, Vance launched a three-year investigation into the Trump Organization, alleging the company had evaded paying taxes.<\/p>\n<p>The organization\u2019s CFO Allen Weisselberg in August\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-organization-cfo-pleads-guilty-to-tax-evasion-lawyer_4673394.html\">pleaded<\/a> guilty to charges of tax fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Weisselberg\u2019s lawyers said that he was punished by the Democrat district attorney\u2019s office because he wouldn\u2019t offer information that would damage Trump.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jack Phillips and Caden Pearson contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"author_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_author_block round\">\n<div class=\"top_row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/author-hannah-ng\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/default-user.png\" alt=\"Hannah Ng\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Follow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hannah Ng is a reporter covering U.S. and China news.
