In Maricopa County, Az., officials confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/voting-machine-problems-arise-20-polling-locations-arizona-maricopa\">upwards of 20% of machines there<\/a> were not functioning as they should have.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got about 20% of the locations out there,&#8221; Maricopa Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Gates told voters on social media, &#8220;where there&#8217;s an issue with the tabulator where some of the ballots where after the people have voted, they try to run them through the tabulator and they&#8217;re not going through.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>County officials were scrambling to fix the issue on Tuesday, with voters being directed to alternative voting methods while the problem was resolved.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Mercer County, New Jersey, meanwhile, a &#8220;glitch&#8221; reportedly caused voting machines there to outright crash, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/voting-machines-down-mercer-county-due-to-glitch\/\">according to CBS News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>County officials were warning that ballot-counting could be delayed on Tuesday night due to the problem. <meta \/>Voters were still able to cast ballots and election officials reportedly said the ballots would eventually be counted once the glitch was fixed; state Attorney General Matt Platkin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewJerseyOAG\/status\/1590038951179743232\">urged voters<\/a>\u00a0affected by the issue to use paper ballots instead of digital voting machines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other problems appeared more minor. Scanner issues in Floyd County, Indiana, were reportedly resolved early on in the voting process, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wdrb.com\/politics\/indiana-election-officials-say-ballot-scanner-issues-in-floyd-county-have-been-fixed\/article_10a38104-5f5f-11ed-9ff9-cfa0c7f2e041.html\">according to WDRB.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A voting site in Albany, New York, meanwhile, also reportedly experienced problems with its ballot counting machine, <a href=\"https:\/\/cnycentral.com\/news\/local\/malfunctioning-voting-machine-trips-up-voting-site-for-albany-colonie-voters\">CNYCentral reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><meta \/>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/13wham.com\/news\/local\/malfunctioning-voting-machine-trips-up-voting-site-for-albany-colonie-voters\">local news outlet<\/a>\u00a0reported that\u00a0the ballots impacted by the malfunction &#8220;will be put in an emergency bin to be counted by non-partisan inspectors&#8221; who will then &#8220;feed the ballots through a working machine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Still other polling sites and districts experienced issues and delays unrelated to purely technical problems.<\/p>\n<p>One Houston-area polling location allegedly saw a four-hour delay in ballot submissions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2022\/11\/08\/us\/voting-polls-ballots#voters-in-one-mostly-hispanic-polling-site-in-houston-are-unable-to-cast-ballots-for-4-hours\">according to the New York Times,<\/a> due to an election clerk walking off the job site and workers having failed to set up voting machines prior to the opening of polls.<\/p>\n<p>Officials in Philadelphia, meanwhile, said on Monday that ballot-counting <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/elections\/philadelphia-elections-department-says-counting-30000-ballots-be-delayed\">could be delayed for up to 30,000 ballots<\/a>\u00a0due to an election integrity lawsuit brought by local Republican officials.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases the issue appeared to be related to user error.
