Division personnel will also maintain contact with state and local election officials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What stands out about the 64 jurisdictions the DOJ plans to \u201cmonitor\u201d is that they are mostly Democrat strongholds or swing districts in states with key midterm contests such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. <\/p>\n<p>These blue and swing counties are facing <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/04\/if-republicans-win-on-tuesday-thank-the-election-integrity-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increased scrutiny<\/a> this year by RNC and GOP activists \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/04\/if-republicans-win-on-tuesday-thank-the-election-integrity-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">after nearly 40 years<\/a> are finally permitted to coordinate poll watching with the national committee and file voting-related lawsuits, as Democrats have been able to do all along. But now these DOJ attorneys, under the guise of protecting \u201cvoting rights,\u201d can help Democratic operatives get around election integrity objections at the polls and avoid scrutiny<\/p>\n<p> Targeted \u2018Jurisdictions\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>In the swing states of Nevada, Georgia, and Michigan, DOJ personnel will only \u201cmonitor\u201d heavily blue counties that all went for Biden in the 2020 election. For example, Fulton County, one of the three Georgia counties \u2014 Cobb, Fulton, Gwinnett \u2014 the DOJ is targeting, went <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">72.6 percent<\/a> for Biden. Fulton County alone represents <a href=\"https:\/\/sos.ga.gov\/georgia-active-voters-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nearly 11 percent<\/a> of Georgia\u2019s electorate and is notorious for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/09\/07\/fulton-county-atlanta-elections-official\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poorly-run<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/atlanta-news\/fulton-election-results-delayed-after-pipe-bursts-in-room-with-ballots\/4T3KPQV7PBEX3JVAIGJBNBSVJY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">elections<\/a>. Wayne County, the home of Detroit and one of the four Democrat-heavy counties targeted by the DOJ in Michigan, represents upwards of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2020\/11\/06\/michigan-votes-by-county\/6174547002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">16 percent of the vote in the state<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Of the counties targeted in Pennsylvania, two \u2014 Berks, Luzerne \u2014 of the five are <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Pivot_Counties_in_Pennsylvania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">swing counties<\/a> and the other three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">went for Biden in 2020<\/a>. This includes Philadelphia, which accounts for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dos.pa.gov\/VotingElections\/OtherServicesEvents\/VotingElectionStatistics\/Documents\/currentvotestats.xls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20 percent of the entire Democratic vote<\/a> in Pennsylvania and where Democrats are notorious for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/former-philadelphia-judge-elections-convicted-conspiring-violate-civil-rights-and-bribery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">buying votes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Arizona, the DOJ is targeting Democratic-heavy Maricopa County, which represents more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maricopa.gov\/5539\/Voting-Equipment-Facts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">60 percent of the Arizona electorate<\/a>, as well as Pima County, another Democrat stronghold. The two red counties on its list, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/08\/pinal-county-election-debacle-shows-election-officials-have-much-to-learn-before-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pinal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2022\/10\/15\/yavapai-county-groups-face-uncertain-future-surrounding-ballot-box-monitoring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yavapai<\/a>, face election integrity concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Of the counties in the non-swing states the DOJ listed, most are the heavily blue counties of California, Minnesota, Florida, and Alaska. In Ohio, the DOJ is targeting only Cuyahoga County (Cleveland); in Texas, Dallas and Harris County (Houston). Both counties went for Biden in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Oddly missing from the list of jurisdictions the DOJ will monitor is the Republican stronghold of Alabama, the birthplace of the civil rights movement.
