Sean Patrick Maloney (D., N.Y.) has a suggestion for families struggling with rising gas and food prices: Eat Chef Boyardee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s what families have to do,&#8221; Maloney, who heads the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told Halston Media when asked what he&#8217;ll do about gas and food prices. &#8220;I grew up in a family where if the gas price went up, the food budget went down, so by this time of the week we&#8217;d be eating Chef Boyardee if that budget wasn&#8217;t gonna change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Maloney did offer a few other solutions, the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/11\/05\/sean-patrick-maloneys-idea-to-combat-inflation-buy-some-chef-boyardee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>He then listed government actions to try to curb inflation, such as capping seniors&#8217; out-of-pocket Medicare expenses and negotiating to lower prescription costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s long overdue. In addition to that, we&#8217;ve released 90 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, that&#8217;s what&#8217;s taken about $1.30 off the price of a gallon of gas,&#8221; he said. &#8220;That&#8217;s a big help. We&#8217;ve got to do more to keep that price from going back up and keep it coming down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Maloney&#8217;s comments come just days after the Free Beacon reported that the Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/sean-patrick-maloney-gave-taxpayer-funded-job-to-longtime-family-friend-with-no-political-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired a close friend<\/a> with no experience for a taxpayer-funded job. Maloney also <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/low-key-flex-sean-patrick-maloney-flaunts-visit-to-hollywoods-most-exclusive-private-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flaunts his visit<\/a> to Hollywood&#8217;s most exclusive private club.<\/p>\n<p>The congressman is facing a tougher-than-expected race against Republican Mike Lawler. It&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookpolitical.com\/analysis\/house\/new-york-house\/ny-17-rating-change-dccc-chair-maloney-moves-lean-democrat-toss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ranked<\/a> as a tossup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
