Republican nominee J.D. Vance leads Rep. Tim Ryan, the Democratic nominee, by 8 percentage points, 51 percent to Ryan&#8217;s 43 percent. Among undecided voters, who account for 4 percent in these final days, Vance&#8217;s lead gets even higher, as he leads by 9 percentage points, with 53 percent to Ryan&#8217;s 44 percent.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">OHIO POLL<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/OHSen?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#OHSen<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JDVance1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@JDVance1<\/a> 51%<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TimRyan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@TimRyan<\/a> 43%<br \/>4% undecided<\/p>\n<p>With undecideds<br \/>Vance 53%<br \/>Ryan 44%<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LaPMdBqglJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/t.co\/LaPMdBqglJ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/50I26cBudy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pic.twitter.com\/50I26cBudy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Emerson College Polling (@EmersonPolling) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EmersonPolling\/status\/1588607010257469441?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November 4, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The momentum has continued to be on Vance&#8217;s side. The write-up from Emerson noted that since their <a href=\"https:\/\/emersoncollegepolling.com\/ohio-2022-ryan-and-vance-in-dead-heat-for-ohio-senate-seat-gov-dewine-maintains-double-digit-lead-over-whaley\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">October poll<\/a>, Vance&#8217;s support has gone up 5 percentage points, while Ryan&#8217;s has dropped by 2 percentage points. In that poll, Vance led by just 1 percentage point, 46 percent to Ryan&#8217;s 45 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Even a higher majority believe that Vance will win, regardless of whom they plan to vote for, with 56 percent thinking the Republican nominee will win. Forty-four percent expect Ryan to be elected.<\/p>\n<p>The poll is catastrophic to Ryan in other ways, too, especially when it comes to his and Vance&#8217;s lead with men versus women.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling is quoted as pointing out:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In mid-October, men were breaking for Vance by 13 points and women for Ryan by ten points. In the past few weeks, Vance has expanded his lead among men to 18 points over Ryan, leading 57% to 39%, and Ryan\u2019s lead among women has diminished to one point, leading 47% to 46%.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The poll also found that the economy is the biggest issue to voters, as it has been, though it increased in importance to a larger plurality of 47 percent. In a distant second place is &#8220;threats to democracy&#8221; at 14 percent, followed by &#8220;abortion access&#8221; at 12 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This latest poll was conducted October 30-November 1, with 1,000 very likely voters and a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Between last month&#8217;s poll conducted October 6-7 and this one, Vance and Ryan had met for two debate performances, <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/rebeccadowns\/2022\/10\/11\/jd-vancetim-ryan-debate-n2614290\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">both of which<\/a> resulted in <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/rebeccadowns\/2022\/10\/18\/desperate-tim-ryan-has-another-debate-meltdown-as-he-goes-for-personal-attacks-n2614652\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">catastrophic performances<\/a> for the Democratic nominee.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two candidates also showed up for <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/rebeccadowns\/2022\/11\/02\/tim-ryan-flounders-when-it-comes-to-confronting-his-own-record-at-fox-news-town-hall-event-n2615342\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a Fox News town hall on Tuesday<\/a>, where Ryan similarly struggled, especially on his record. That town hall was watched by 2.9 million viewers, according to a press release from FOX News Channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The poll results aren&#8217;t the only recent embarrassment for Ryan.
