Chris Sununu said that Democrats are using President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a> as a \u201cpolitical tool,\u201d and it will backfire on them in Tuesday\u2019s midterm elections.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on CBS\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/video\/sununu-says-trump-2024-announcement-not-going-to-make-any-difference-for-other-gop-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Face the Nation<\/a>\u201d Sunday, Sununu fired back at Democrats\u2019 repeated claim that Republican \u201cextremism\u201d poses a unique threat to democracy. The governor accused Democrats of using Biden, who campaigned on unifying the country in 2020, to attack their political opposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, what is shocking to me about all of this is you have the Democrat Party, which is now using the president of the United States, not as leader of our country, but leader of their party as a political tool,\u201d Sununu said. \u201cRight before the election, to drive in, effectively tell half of America that they\u2019re too extreme for America. It makes absolutely no sense\u2026\u00a0 to say that extremism belongs in one party and it doesn\u2019t appear in the Democrat Party is nonsensical. Nobody buys that because we see it on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExtremism is on both sides. And for the president, United States to come up and be more of a political tool as opposed to a uniter; remember, he got elected because he said he was going to unite folks, not threaten them,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was going to bring everybody together and get stuff done and not polarize this country, which is exactly what has happened. If that was not the reality then Democrats wouldn\u2019t be in for the rude awakening they\u2019re going to come- that\u2019s going to come Tuesday. But it is coming and not because of politics, because of what is happening in people\u2019s homes, what\u2019s happening at their kitchen tables, what\u2019s happening with trying to balance a checkbook in. The president has to take a lot of responsibility for that. It\u2019s easy to just blame extremism. But most of us are not extreme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden gave another speech on Wednesday accusing so-called \u201cMAGA Republicans\u201d of threatening<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-calling-for-americans-to-unite-demonizes-republicans-as-a-threat-to-democracy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0American democracy<\/a>\u00a0and tolerating political violence in the wake of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-nancy-pelosis-husband-violently-assaulted-hospitalized-after-break-in-at-california-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attack on Paul Pelosi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extreme MAGA element of the Republican Party, which is a minority [of] that party as I said earlier, but is its driving force, is trying to succeed where they failed in 2020, to suppress the right of voters and subvert the electoral system itself,\u201d Biden said. \u201cThat means denying your right to vote and deciding whether your vote even counts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s speech toned down some of the attacks but repeated many talking points from his infamous \u201cBattle for the Soul of the Nation\u201d speech in Philadelphia on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-demonizes-millions-of-americans-while-calling-for-unity\">September 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans,\u201d Biden said at the time. \u201cAnd that is a threat to this country.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Hampshire Republican Gov.
