The program includes lessons on \u201cBecoming a Trans Ally and Going Beyond the Binary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The email states that the intent of the training is to educate employees on \u201cwhat gender identity and expression mean, what people who are trans and nonbinary experience, why personal pronouns matter, or what role allies can play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/straightforequality.org\/workplacematerials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">educational materials<\/a> found on the Straight for Equality website, participants will learn about the pseudoscientific concept of \u201cgender identity.\u201d While studies of the brain show <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NeuroSGS\/status\/1549324206437011458?s=20&#038;t=jNBXSdT5A6sdfLnWZU2bZA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">evidence<\/a> of same-sex attraction, as well as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3180619\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">autogynephilia<\/a>, a paraphilic disorder in which a man becomes sexually aroused by the thought of himself as a female, there is no scientific evidence to definitively support the existence of \u201cgender identity\u201d or gender dysphoria in the brain.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, <a href=\"https:\/\/straightforequality.org\/sites\/default\/files\/guide%20to%20being%20a%20straight%20ally%20fourth%20edition.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guidance<\/a> from Straight for Equality claims that \u201ca lot of experts in the field believe that awareness of gender identity is experienced in infancy.\u201d The materials include concepts like \u201cassigned sex,\u201d the idea that doctors arbitrarily dictate a person\u2019s biological sex rather than observe and record it.
