According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/605555836\/Florida-Department-of-State-Alcindor-Complaint-10-25-22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complaint<\/a>, state residency requirements mandate voters\u2019 intention of making Florida their permanent home. Alcindor, however, lives in Washington D.C. with her husband, Nathaniel Cline, with little evidence to show the beltway reporter plans to settle in the Sunshine State.<\/p>\n<p>AAF highlighted a 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Yamiche\/status\/819963629386825731?s=20&#038;t=ZnpyvDxG2tQDof702rv6rQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet<\/a> in its complaint to Florida election officials last week demanding an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome news,\u201d Alcindor wrote days before President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration. \u201cI moved to DC this week to cover social safety net issues and how Trump\u2019s administration impacts everyday people\u2019s lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Yamiche\/status\/819963629386825731?s=20&#038;t=ZnpyvDxG2tQDof702rv6rQ\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Thomas Jones, the president of the American Accountability Foundation, wrote in the group\u2019s complaint the 2017 post made clear a change in permanent residence. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs. Alcindor is a professional journalist and could have drafted her language to make it clear that she was only \u2018temporarily\u2019 moving to the District of Columbia while she remained a permanent resident of the State of Florida,\u201d Jones wrote. \u201cInstead, she stated that she \u2018moved to DC.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alcindor was working for The New York Times when she moved to Washington. In 2018, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/press-releases\/award-winning-journalist-yamiche-alcindor-named-pbs-newshour-white-house-correspondent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">jumped<\/a> on the government payroll as a White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour, a taxpayer-funded outlet, and made the leap to NBC News under the same title last year.<\/p>\n<p>Public records outlined in the foundation\u2019s complaint show Alcindor and Cline living at a rental property in D.C.
