Dayaratna \u2013 the study\u2019s authors \u2013 concluded, \u201cWhether a state as a whole voted for Donald Trump or Joe Biden has nothing to do with the homicide rates within its constituent parts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe high murder rate is almost exclusively cabined in cities run by Democrats and with Democrat district attorneys, many of whom are Soros bought-and-paid-for rogue prosecutors or inspired by Soros, groups like the egregiously misnamed Fair and Just Prosecution and other battering rams of the movement,\u201d they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study\u2019s data analysis, if homicide rates of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/crime-ridden-democrat-run-cities-become-ghost-towns-amid-mass-exodus-of-residents\/\">Democrat-run cities<\/a> in Republican-led states are subtracted, the overall homicide rates are dramatically reduced.<\/p>\n<p>For example, in Missouri, St. Louis City and St. Louis County heavily influence the state\u2019s homicide rate, with about 46 and 14 homicides per 100,000 residents.<\/p>\n<p>Removing both counties drops Missouri\u2019s homicide ranking from fifth to 20th in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>As Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/new-study-debunks-red-state-high-crime-claim-by-hillary-clinton-democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">notes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Georgia\u2019s homicide rate is heavily influenced by crime in Atlanta, encompassing Fulton and DeKalb Counties. Dropping these two counties causes the state\u2019s homicide rate to drop 17% and the state\u2019s ranking to fall from 13th to 21st in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage\u2019s study is a rebuttal to a study published last month by a left-leaning advocacy group, Third Way, titled \u201cThe Red State Murder Problem,\u201d which stated that \u201cmurder rates are far higher in Trump-voting red states than Biden-voting blue states.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe authors of the Third Way \u2018study\u2019 either intentionally neglected or simply don\u2019t understand that the \u2018criminal justice system\u2019 within the 50 states is not a homogeneous nationwide system, but rather an amalgamation of thousands of microcosms consisting of federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors and unique approaches to the enforcement of state law,\u201d the Heritage authors wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfetched.com\/more-people-fleeing-san-francisco-than-any-other-metro-area-in-us\/\">More People Fleeing San Francisco than Any Other Metro Area in US<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Heritage study notes the Third Way findings have been cited by dozens of media outlets, including the Washington Post, the San Francisco Examiner, and NBC News.<\/p>\n<p>Third Way\u2019s study was also cited by leading Democratic politicians like California\u2019s Governor Gavin Newsom, who states:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe @GOP love to campaign on being \u2018tough on crime.\u2019 But here\u2019s the truth \u2014 their policies don\u2019t work. 8 of the 10 states with the highest murder rates are red. Murder rates were 40% higher in red states than blue. Gun deaths are almost 2x as high in red states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hillary Clinton perpetuated the Third Wave data by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/1588155329711411200?s=20&#038;t=WwNu-AfIdjXxau6siht3TQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claiming<\/a> \u201cstates with the highest crime levels are states run by Republicans. That\u2019s just a fact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Heritage study found that counties with the highest homicide rates have local leaders who are Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>In Orleans Parish, the city with the highest homicide rate in the country as of June 2022, Dis\u00adtrict Attorney Jason Williams, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, and all seven members of the City Council are Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>In the city of St. Louis, which has the fourth-highest homicide rate, all the elected officials are Demo\u00adcrats.<\/p>\n<p>The Heritage authors said policies enacted by Democrats have added to the \u201clawlessness across blue cities and the steep rise in crime rates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those Democrat policies include refusing to prosecute misdemeanors, drug possession, and shoplifting and refusing to prosecute violent teenagers in adult court for such crimes as murder, child abuse, and rape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo suggest now that Republican elected officials who have followed different policies have contributed to crime increases is at best laughable,\u201d they concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hillary Clinton\u2019s recent claim that rising crime rates are due to policies pursued by Republicans in red states has been debunked in a new study.
