That is a bunch of crap. And that is what&#8217;s going on in this country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>President Biden gave an impromptu speech on Wednesday, his last major address <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before Election Day<\/a>, in which he seemed to point the finger at the right for the Paul Pelosi attack, while also accusing Republicans of supporting political violence, election denialism and voter intimidation.<\/p>\n<p>Though the South Carolina Democrat decried the right&#8217;s &#8220;demonization&#8221; of Nancy Pelosi that he sees is to blame\u00a0for the attack, Clyburn doesn&#8217;t see Biden&#8217;s frequent vilification of &#8220;ultra-MAGA Republicans&#8221; as equivalent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/biden-ridiculed-despicable-speech-threat-democracy-delusion-looks-like\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>BIDEN RIDICULED FOR \u2018DESPICABLE\u2019 SPEECH ON \u2018THREAT\u2019 TO DEMOCRACY: \u2018WHAT DELUSION LOOKS LIKE\u2019<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The president&#8217;s harsh rhetoric of Trump supporters is entirely different, according to Clyburn, because Biden is directing his attacks at a &#8220;philosophy&#8221; and not an individual.<\/p>\n<p>When asked why Americans should vote to keep <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/elections\/democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats in control of Congress<\/a>, despite record-high inflation and rising gas prices, Clyburn downplayed economic concerns.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think that people should be voting in their own self-interest. And their self-interest is much more than what you may or may not be paying for gas or a loaf of bread.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Clyburn went on to suggest that the choice between Democrats and Republicans is whether to vote for democracy or autocracy, echoing President Biden&#8217;s Wednesday night speech.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/control-senate-hinges-volatile-races\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>FOR THE WIN: CONTROL OF THE SENATE HINGES ON THESE VOLATILE RACES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The question is,&#8221; Clyburn said, &#8220;are we going to have a society that everyone can participate in? Or are we going to have an autocracy?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The majority whip&#8217;s pitch to voters contradicts advice coming from many political analysts who say that Democrats need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/bidens-democracy-speech-should-have-been-about-cost-living-says-former-sanders-campaign-manager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">focus on economic issues<\/a> ahead of a potentially brutal election night just days away. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"image-ct inline\">\n<div class=\"m\"><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 767px) and (max-width: 1023px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1024px) and (max-width: 1279px)\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 1280px)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a57.foxnews.com\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/640\/320\/James-Clyburn-AP.jpg?ve=1&#038;tl=1\" alt=\"Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., currently serves as the House Majority Whip.<br \/>\n      <span class=\"copyright\">(Carolyn Kaster)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Democrats have sounded the alarm over election denialism throughout the midterms, often pointing to Republicans who refused to certify presidential election results in the wake of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/capitol-protests\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the January 6th Capitol riot<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Clyburn is among a group of Democrats who voted against awarding Ohio&#8217;s electoral votes to President Bush in 2005, despite Bush wining the state by over 118,000 votes. The group of Democrats cited &#8220;election irregularities&#8221; as their reasoning for delaying the certification of the 2004 presidential results. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked if this constituted election denialism, the Majority Whip sharply shot down the question.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s totally different,&#8221; said Clyburn. &#8220;We didn\u2019t call anybody about a change in the votes. We just voted on a process. To protest a process is what we did. Nobody stormed the Capitol. Nobody disrupted the count. Now as the GOP nominee in the general election, Bolduc&#8217;s unexpected success is raising concerns among Democrats as polls show him closing in on incumbent Democratic Sen.
