in his trademark hooded sweatshirts, against a backdrop of a white brick wall &#8212; resulting in more poor arguments and mangled sentences. \u00a0Asked by a local news anchor about his brazen fracking flip-flop, and his tough-to-watch answer about it at the debate, Fetterman said this:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Anchor plays Fetterman&#8217;s disastrous answer on fracking from the debate, then asks &#8220;do you understand why people are questioning your ability to be our senator?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fetterman: &#8220;No, I\u2014I believe that, that my support of fracking has always been, been one that\u2014in the past.&#8221; was so stark that a major player in this contest&#8217;s advertising wars <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoshKraushaar\/status\/1587759182022844417\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">is showcasing it<\/a> as a &#8216;no-frills, just watch&#8217; about the problem. \u00a0I&#8217;d say that the Biden administration has done more than enough damage on that front, as multiple Democratic economists have pointed the finger at Democrats&#8217; entirely partisan spending binge as a major driver of America&#8217;s inflation pain, which is far more acute than it needs to be. \u00a0Fetterman&#8217;s take was to blame&#8230;the Republican tax reform law from five years ago, which drove the US economy into a period of strong and sustainable growth, featuring robust GDP numbers, record-low unemployment for numerous demographic groups, and long-awaited real wage increases. Our economy was roaring before COVID arrived from China and threw the entire world economy into shambles. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet Fetterman&#8217;s answer on inflation, which, again, even <em>Democrat<\/em>-aligned economists admit was exacerbated by Democratic policies, is to go back half-a-decade and attack a successful Republican policy that helped working and middle class people. \u00a0It&#8217;s totally nonsensical. \u00a0And with the threat of a double-dip recession looming, is he arguing for a tax increase? \u00a0Probably, since that&#8217;s his default position, even though he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/pas-fetterman-dogged-by-history-of-unpaid-taxes\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">failed to pay his own taxes<\/a> on numerous occasions. \u00a0That is the substantive response to Fetterman&#8217;s inflation remarks. \u00a0I&#8217;d say that his delivery, which is notable for its own reasons, speaks for itself. \u00a0The optics are bad and painful. \u00a0He is unfit for the job. \u00a0But his actual answer, sweeping aside the syntax and confused language, is just dreadful. \u00a0He has nothing of worth to say on inflation, which is the number one facing voters &#8212; though you probably wouldn&#8217;t know it, based on Democrats&#8217; ad spending and electoral messaging. \u00a0A <a
