The host had to remind Garry that earlier in the show, he claimed that there has \u201cnot been another one with\u00a0furin cleavage site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kelly then noted that we know, thanks to uncovered emails, that Garry originally thought COVID was likely leaked from the Wuhan lab, stating that he said, \u201cI just can\u2019t figure out how this gets accomplished in nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>After his conversations with Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as well as then-Director of the National Institutes of Health Dr. Francis Collins, he changed his mind. Kelly said that Garry completely \u201creversed\u201d himself, claiming just two days later that \u201cit can\u2019t possibly be lab leak, it is nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The virologist said he wanted to correct the record, explaining that it was \u201cone email\u201d that he sent to his \u201ccolleagues that were looking at this, one email out of hundreds of emails,\u201d adding that after he got further into the genome, it became obvious to him that the coronavirus was from nature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut forgive me,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/theres-something-wrong-with-this-guy-megyn-kelly-calls-out-biden-over-viral-video-of-his-weird-touching-of-young-girls-shoulder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelly<\/a> interjected. \u201cWasn\u2019t it just days \u2026 just two days later that you reversed yourself and said, actually no, okay, forget what I said about it coming from a lab. I now say it\u2019s natural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garry replied that it wasn\u2019t \u201creally a reversal,\u201d and claimed \u201cit\u2019s what scientists do.\u201d When pressed by the host about \u201cwhat happened in those 48 hours,\u201d the virologist said he looked at the \u201cgenomes of the viruses more closely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Fox News host then pressed Garry over his paper calling the origin \u201cnatural\u201d after speaking to both Fauci and Collins, who are on record not wanting the virus to be labeled a lab leak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s one thing if you can say, \u2018Megyn, let me show you what I saw that proved to me it came \u2014 we found the pangolin,\u2019\u201d Kelly said. \u201cYou know, that\u2019s why. I\u2019d say, gotcha. I get it. But there\u2019s nothing that proved this thing came from nature in those 48 hours. Nothing. What happened was there was a communication with Fauci and Collins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garry claimed that Fauci and Collins were agnostic about COVID\u2019s origin, to which Kelly replied, \u201cThat\u2019s not true. Because we have their writings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The virologist insisted they didn\u2019t try to influence his article in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41591-020-0820-9\">Nature Medicine<\/a>\u201d magazine, and said we \u201cchanged our minds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe science was very clear then; it\u2019s very clear now,\u201d Garry added. \u201cThey didn\u2019t have a virus like SARS CoV-2 at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. They didn\u2019t stick a furin cleavage site in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t know that,\u201d Kelly replied. \u201cYou absolutely do not know that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do know that, actually,\u201d the virologist insisted. \u201cI mean, based on all the science and evidence that we\u2019ve gathered, it\u2019s just extremely unlikely that they had anything close to SARS CoV-2 in that lab.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, that\u2019s different than no,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cNow you\u2019re admitting that you\u2019re just positing this. \u2018Extremely unlikely\u2019 is different from \u2018I know she didn\u2019t do it.\u2019 There was bat coronavirus, gain-of-function research going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When pressed by the host if he denies that there was \u201cgain-of-function research\u201d taking place at the lab, Garry said \u201cthere was research being done, but there was no research being done on a virus that could\u2019ve been converted into SARS CoV-2.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/megyn-kelly-gets-emotional-on-air-after-revealing-major-loss-in-her-family\">Kelly<\/a> asked again how Garry knows, and he said \u201cthey would\u2019ve published on it before \u2026 it\u2019s hard to find in nature. So, how did they get it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When she asked how he knows they would\u2019ve published and wouldn\u2019t do so if it was being done nefariously, he said once again, \u201cWe\u2019re diving into conspiracy theories there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, it\u2019s not a conspiracy theory,\u201d Kelly replied. \u201cIt\u2019s a question. It\u2019s a question. You can\u2019t dismiss a legitimate question by labeling it a conspiracy theory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a tactic!\u201d the host added. \u201cThat\u2019s not science.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Fox News host then pushed back on Garry\u2019s suggestion that all these scientists being in on it would amount to a conspiracy theory. \u201cWhy is it not possible that they were working on it in a low-security lab \u2026 and then they had a, \u2018Oh, you know what\u2019 moment when it got out?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to reject the idea that people like Peter Dazak and Ralph<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Megyn Kelly\u2019s podcast got heated on Thursday as she questioned virologist Dr. Robert Garry about the Wuhan lab leak theory, asking him several times to stop dodging her questions.
