Raphael Warnock of Georgia encourages aborting unborn children who have disabilities and labels Republican candidate Herschel Walker \u201ccruel\u201d for wanting to protect the unborn. <\/p>\n<p>Featuring post-abortive mother Sarah Watkins sharing the story of her decision to abort her child, the ad makes an alarming case for eliminating children with certain undesirable genetic conditions. Watkins explains that her unborn daughter was diagnosed with Edwards syndrome, also known as trisomy 18 \u2014 a genetic condition that causes complications in growth during fetal development. The campaign advertisement stated that the condition is \u201cusually fatal before birth or during the first year of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: &#8220;Reverend&#8221; Raphael Warnock&#8217;s closing ad features a woman who aborted her unborn child due to a birth defect and says that Herschel Walker is \u201ccruel\u201d for wanting to protect life. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pWBcvjilR6\">pic.twitter.com\/pWBcvjilR6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1587848826240602112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 2, 2022<\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven if she survived the pregnancy,\u201d Watkins stated, \u201cshe would not live for more than a few days. The only way we could help her is to make sure that she went back to God in peace and in love, and that was the only decision we could make for her.\u201d By \u201cwent back to God in peace and in love,\u201d Watkins meant being killed and ripped out of the protection of a mother\u2019s womb.<\/p>\n<p>After using the heartbreaking story of killing her disabled baby to push for Warnock\u2019s far-left abortion views, Watkins then smeared Republican candidate Herschel Walker for wanting to protect unborn babies like her daughter. \u201cHerschel Walker thinks that as a politician, he knows better than a mother,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s not just wrong, it\u2019s cruel.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Watkins\u2019 story of her unborn child\u2019s likely-fatal diagnosis is absolutely devastating. Mothers who are told they will likely lose their children should be comforted and shown love and support.<\/p>\n<p>But even for likely-fatal diagnoses, abortion (which is fatal by <em>design<\/em>) is not a solution. Abortion is not \u201clove,\u201d nor is it peaceful, but it instead intentionally and brutally ends the life of a child. A common <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-done-second-trimester-de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">second-trimester abortion<\/a> \u2014 dilation and evacuation \u2014 uses forceps to dismember the child, ripping her limbs from her body and killing her violently in the process. This is the antithesis of love. It is a painful and gruesome ending to an unborn child\u2019s life. The alternative option, the loving option, is to give the child a chance to live \u2014 even if doctors state the child\u2019s life expectancy is only a few days \u2014 and to die naturally and comfortably. (Additionally, life expectancy estimates can be wrong, as can prenatal test results.)<\/p>\n<p>Instead of giving women the empowerment to choose life when faced with these circumstances, Sen. Warnock\u2019s radical abortion stance and this advertisement work to pressure and pigeonhole women into choosing abortion.
