So how can we have a law, how can we have a point of view on this that says we must treat everything the same?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Indeed, Hathaway is correct that no two pregnancies are alike. Everyone is different and will face unique challenges upon entering the world. Thanks to modern technology, some mothers can detect what these challenges might be before their babies are born. Through prenatal testing, women can have a better idea of whether their preborn child is at a higher risk for a genetic anomaly, such as Down Syndrome (DS). <\/p>\n<p>This advance notice, however, has led to genocidal abortion rates of children with Down Syndrome, with studies finding that babies prenatally diagnosed with DS are aborted at somewhere between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/obgyn.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1002\/pd.2910\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">67 percent to 85 percent<\/a>, and possibly as high as 90 percent,\u00a0in the U.S.\u00a0In Denmark, about <a href=\"https:\/\/thelifeinstitute.net\/info\/down-syndrome-and-abortion-the-facts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">98 percent<\/a> of parents whose unborn children receive a DS diagnosis choose to abort their babies.\u00a0In\u00a0Iceland, it\u2019s nearly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thelifeinstitute.net\/info\/down-syndrome-and-abortion-the-facts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">100<\/a>\u00a0percent.<\/p>\n<p>Hathaway\u2019s promotion of \u201cmercy\u201d killings is not new. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.historyplace.com\/worldwar2\/holocaust\/h-euthanasia.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mercy death<\/a>\u201d is the term Adolf Hitler used to describe \u201cAktion T4,\u201d a mass-scale extermination operation of disabled people via poison gas. It is estimated that the murderous program <a href=\"https:\/\/encyclopedia.ushmm.org\/content\/en\/article\/euthanasia-program\">killed about<\/a> 250,000 people in Nazi Germany. Terms such as \u201cmercy\u201d killing and the high rates of discriminatory abortions should ring alarm bells for today\u2019s leftists who purport to be <em>extremely<\/em> concerned about modern \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/06\/26\/dear-judd-and-kumail-you-have-no-idea-what-a-nazi-really-was\/\">Nazis<\/a>\u201d and claim to value \u201cdiversity,\u201d \u201cinclusivity,\u201d and \u201cdisability rights.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Instead, Hathaway is one of many pro-abortion activists who applaud selective breeding. For example, \u201cThe View\u201d co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ElAmerican_\/status\/1540446586194599936?s=20&#038;t=GEhMn3LT9eeGqJwu-7pqKw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ana Navarro <\/a>recently suggested that if a child is found to have a disability in the womb, it is preferable to kill the child than to give him or her a chance at life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Just this week, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/02\/the-love-is-blind-abortion-debate-exposes-everything-wrong-with-baby-killing-ideology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Love is Blind<\/a>\u201d reality show contestant Nancy Rodriguez said she would abort her own child if he or she had a prenatal Down syndrome diagnosis. \u201cI see the amount of trauma that it does to, like, the family,\u201d said Rodriguez, presumably suggesting that raising a special needs child would \u201ctraumatize\u201d her and the rest of her family. \u201cFor me, if I knew that I could try again and hope that the second time it\u2019s better, then I would go that route.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The reality is that pro-abortion supporters do not believe all life is equally valuable. They demand \u201cflexibility\u201d in deciding which groups of people are worthy of life. \u201cHow can we have a point of view on this that says we must treat everything the same?\u201d asked Hathaway. \u201cAnd where I come at it from is when you allow the choice, you allow for flexibility, which is what we need in order to be human.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The left\u2019s demand for \u201cflexibility\u201d in deciding what lives are worth living has sanctioned appalling human rights abuses. Discriminatory abortions include the targeting of the disabled, such as those with Down syndrome or cystic fibrosis, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/sex-selection-abortion-the-real-war-on-women\/\">baby girls<\/a> in places like India and China. It includes the targeted killing of poor children, and it takes a disproportionate toll on black lives. In New York City, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/lets-talk-about-the-black-abortion-rate-1531263697\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thousands more black babies<\/a> are killed than born alive every year. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/journals\/psrh\/2017\/04\/barriers-abortion-care-and-their-consequences-patients-traveling-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">75 percent<\/a> of women who get an abortion are considered poor or low-income. <\/p>\n<p>Instead of defending \u201cunderprivileged\u201d children, abortion activists promote killing them. Wisconsin Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=H-q0EP8HjA0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gwen Moore suggested<\/a> in 2011 that it would be better for unborn children to die in abortions than grow up having to live poor and eat \u201cRamen noodles\u201d and \u201cmayonnaise sandwiches.\u201d More recently, Democrat Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/women-need-abortions-to-fight-inflation-dem-rep-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Katie Porter<\/a> said on MSNBC that aborting their children can help families stay financially afloat in Biden\u2019s inflationary economy. Georgia\u2019s Democrat gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/19\/stacey-abrams-inflation-wouldnt-be-so-bad-if-youd-just-let-us-kill-more-babies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stacey Abrams<\/a> said something similar last month.<\/p>\n<p>Hathaway claimed at one point in the interview that this is \u201cnot a moral conversation about abortion,\u201d but \u201ca practical conversation about women\u2019s rights, and by the way human rights, because women\u2019s rights are human rights.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sorry, Anne Hathway, but the mass killing of certain sects of human beings that others deem \u201cundesirable\u201d is absolutely a moral issue.
