They believe it would \u201cpromote the most comprehensive assault on Christianity ever written into law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) took to Twitter to reiterate her opposition to the Democrat-backed bill and called on proponents to reconsider their stance.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Congress should pause and think about how the so-called \u201cEquality\u201d Act destroys rights of women and girls, competitive sports for females, and rights of Believers.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why I moved to adjourn. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/cT8HLJR9Ed\">pic.twitter.com\/cT8HLJR9Ed<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. It would also expand the government\u2019s regulatory reach on transgender protections by requiring health care facilities to provide hormone therapies and surgical procedures related to sex changes without regard for the beliefs of health care workers.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans like Taylor Greene have stressed that this could cost everyday Americans their freedom, specifically religious freedom, not to mention hamper women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Equality Act completely destroys women\u2019s rights, girl\u2019s rights, women\u2019s sports and religious freedoms,\u201d stated the Georgia lawmaker. \u201cI hope that every colleague of mine will put aside their political differences and realize putting on the Equality Act is the wrong thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The so-called \u201cEquality\u201d Act will destroy women\u2019s rights, competitive female sports, and religious freedom.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s completely unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>OPPOSE! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tpbxbEb1tF\">pic.twitter.com\/tpbxbEb1tF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marjorie Taylor Greene \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@mtgreenee) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtgreenee\/status\/1364637772179533825?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During a recent interview, Catholic League President Bill Donohue pointed out how two transgender females in Connecticut easily placed first and second in a girl\u2019s track and field state competition.<\/p>\n<p>Donohue went on to say the Equality Act would be the end of Catholic adoption agencies.
