system.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Musk said the new verification system would cost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/twitter-verified-status-pay-20-a-month-report-elon-musk\/\">$20 a month <\/a>for users to recieve a blue checkmark via Twitter Blue, which currently costs $5 monthly.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Musk tweeted that it would cost $8 per month.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Twitter&#8217;s current lords &#038; peasants system for who has or doesn\u2019t have a blue checkmark is bullshit,&#8221; the Tesla CEO tweeted, noting that prices would be adjusted by country &#8220;proportionate to purchasing power parity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Those who subscribe will also get &#8220;priority in replies, mentions and search, which is essential to defeat spam\/scam&#8221;
