Justice Amy Coney Barrett <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/scotus-refuses-lawsuit-to-block-bidens-student-loan-forgiveness-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> an emergency appeal filed by the Brown County Taxpayers Association in Wisconsin, likely because the plaintiffs lacked sufficient legal standing to challenge the policy.<\/p>\n<p>District Judge Henry Autrey in the Eastern District of Missouri said that his court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/federal-judge-dismisses-republican-led-challenge-to-biden-student-debt-bailout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lacked<\/a> jurisdiction to hear a separate lawsuit from six Republican attorneys general, prompting the officials to seek immediate relief from the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. The court indeed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-federal-court-freezes-bidens-student-loan-bailout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ordered<\/a> the White House to refrain from canceling student debt on October 21, granting an administrative stay while judges consider the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Critics of the student loan policy, which include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/raises-demand-and-increases-inflation-obamas-top-economist-shreds-biden-plan-for-student-loan-cancellation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">many fellow liberals<\/a>, contend that Biden lacks the authority to unilaterally erase as much as $500 billion in debt without approval from Congress.
