They deprived him of having a lawyer and do not allow lawyers to enter the court,\u201d Ghobadlo\u2019s mother said in an online video.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThey interrogated him without having access to a lawyer, and sentenced him to death after only one hearing. Is this Islamic justice? In which court of law do they sentence people to death after just one hearing? They are going to execute him soon. I ask people to help,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Global leaders have reacted to Iran\u2019s intense crackdown on protesters, with German chancellor Olaf Scholz saying he was stunned by how many people were being violently and illegally detained. Germany\u2019s foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, has also said she is seeking European Union sanctions against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group. Canada has said it would initiate more sanctions against top Iranian authorities and law enforcement personnel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">More than 300 Iranian reporters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/iranian-journalists-demand-that-colleagues-jailed-covering-aminis-death-be-freed-2022-10-30\/\">demanded<\/a> that two journalists arrested for reporting on the story of Amini\u2019s death be let go.
