Lee Zeldin takes the lead in the New York gubernatorial race in his attempt to oust Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul, according to a\u00a0Trafalgar Group published late Monday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The poll <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrafalgargroup.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/NY-General-Poll-Report-1031.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">found<\/a> that of the 1,198 likely general election voters, 48.4 percent would vote for the Zeldin, while 47.6 percent would vote for Hochul. With four percent undecided, Zeldin leads the Democrat incumbent by less than a point and within the margin of error.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The\u00a0Trafalgar Group poll sampled the 1,198 likely general election voters from October 27 to 31, with a 2.9 percent margin of error and a 95 percent confidence level. The poll\u2019s respondents were 53.6 percent\u00a0Democrats, 27.5 percent Republican, and 18.9 percent had no party or other affiliation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The poll comes just one day after the <em>New York Times\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/31\/worried-democrats-scramble-to-save-kathy-hochul-in-new-yorks-governors-race-as-republican-lee-zeldin-surges\/\">published<\/a> a story explaining how Zeldin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/31\/worried-democrats-scramble-to-save-kathy-hochul-in-new-yorks-governors-race-as-republican-lee-zeldin-surges\/\">surging<\/a> in the poll had caused the national Democrats to worry about the race and, therefore, the effect a major upset would have on the down-ballot races \u2014 similar to what happened in Virginia last year when then-candidate Glenn Youngkin won his gubernatorial race.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_22435318\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Gov-Kathy-Hochul-New-York-Oct25-22-debate-ap.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22435318\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Gov-Kathy-Hochul-New-York-Oct25-22-debate-ap.jpg\" alt=\"Incumbent Democratic Gov. (AP Photo\/Mary Altaffer, Pool)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">The\u00a0<em>Times\u00a0<\/em>reported\u00a0that the\u00a0Democratic Governors Association (DGA) had thrown money into the race after initially not planning on spending anything:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In a sign of how close the governor\u2019s race has gotten, <strong>the Democratic Governors Association filed paperwork in recent days to form a super PAC in New York that will prop up Ms. Hochul on TV and try to stave off losses further down the ballot.<\/strong> After watching from the sidelines for months, the group will now join prominent labor groups in rushing to start spending on behalf of Ms. Hochul in the race\u2019s final days, as <a class=\"css-yywogo x5l\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/10\/27\/nyregion\/hochul-governor-zeldin-democratic.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">concerned<\/a> Democrats scramble to ensure that their base turns out to vote\u00a0[Emphasis added].<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\"><strong>The Democratic Governors Association had not initially planned to spend on the race,<\/strong> but as polls have tightened and the Republican Governors Association began dumping $2 million into a pro-Zeldin super PAC, the Democrats decided to act.
